No fun when the AC goes out when you're in the middle of a week of smoke from Canadian forest fires. Fortunately, Chris from All Star to the rescue!! Quick turnaround on getting an appointment, he isolated and fixed the issue without delay, gave me some advice for future needs, but never once tried to upsell me. That's key to me! He answered my questions, posed some things to consider, and then continued the work. This is my second time calling All Star and I've had the same experience both times. Honest, reliable, and tells you what you really need rather than what would make their accounts larger. Being a company with a strong moral core is icing on the cake!
Called All-star about my AC not keeping up with the heat. Chris was at the house within 2 hours. He thoroughly inspected the system and performed the needed maintenance super quickly. He corrected an issue created by a previous HVAC company and got the AC unit running great. In addition to being great at the job he was a pleasant guy as well. I love All Star and will never call another HVAC company as long as I live in their service area. They are the absolute best and the prices are totally competitive with any other HVAC company in the area.
2023 edit: Our A/C hasn’t been working as well, so we once again contacted All Star to take a look. Chris came out and cleaned out the filters and A/C unit. He was very friendly and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He offered suggestions on how to maintain the cleaning that he did, and made sure I knew what to do next. I was very impressed with his kindness the entire time he was here. All star will continue to be the only place we work with! Our A/C wasn’t working and we had a newborn at home, and my mom-panic was setting in. Larry was able to squeeze us in and came by and fixed the issue. He was open and honest about what it would take to resolve the problem right away, versus the possibility of having to replace the unit eventually. When it is time to replace it, Larry will be the only company we work with!
I made the call at work during the middle of the day, there were no appointments available and because All Star mechanic team were on my side of town they waited for my wife to return home and stop by and made repairs in super efficient time and tips for maintenance. Thanks All Star Mechanical
Highly recommend this company! My AC went out (blown capacitor) during a week of 90 degree temps. They were able to send Chris out the same day, he fixed my AC in less than an hour and even caught an issue with the humidifier that I hadn’t noticed and got me a quote for that. He was so kind, professional, fast, and knowledgeable. I have always had great experiences with this company.
Excellent! A+++++++++++ I can't say enough about how great All Star Mechanical has been for me. I had a new furnace and AC installed a few years ago by Larry and his crew. Chris came and tuned up the system today and even answered all the questions I had for him -because I'm like a kid that is constantly asking questions! He is one smart guy and so easy to talk to. I also love that you don't have to ask them to put on booties when they walk through your house. I can't recommend All Star Mechanical enough!
The name couldn't be more appropriate for this company. Called at 845 am on a Thursday and Chris was at my house within 45 minutes to troubleshoot and fix a non-functioning furnace. He patiently explained the problem and answered all of my questions along the way. Most importantly, he got the problem fixed so everything is up and running smoothly again. You've got lots of options for HVAC work in the East Lansing area, but All Star Mechanical is, if you'll tolerate the sports metaphor, both the MVP and GOAT!
I can’t say enough good things about this company! Larry, the owner, responds quickly if I have to leave a message. He works with my schedule to have someone come out to my house. Today is the second time I’ve used them. The first time was when it was very cold out and my furnace stopped working. Chris came out and figured out it was my circuit board. He took care of it very quickly. Thank God it was covered under my home warranty. This time was because I had a leak in the PVC piping and my air conditioning unit wasn’t turning on. Chris figured out my unit needed a new fuse, replaced it and he fixed the leak in the PVC pipe. Very knowledgeable, professional, reasonably priced, honest and kind. Highly recommended this company for any furnace or AC issues or installation!
Obviously you didn’t experience the best economy that we’ve had in decades, how dare you accuse our President of being a criminal, what you did by posting that ad in the Pulse was very unprofessional and I’m sure the community will respond in like to you. BTW, Welcome to America, where you are innocent until proven guilty, The Feds have been after Trump for over 6 years now and can’t find anything worthy of prosecuting him, what makes you think a State DA can do it? For if GOD is with you who can stand against you?
I have not received service from this company; however, seeing them utilize an ad space in the City Pulse to invoke justice & equity is extremely honorable. I applaud you all! 👏🏽
Larry and his crew are honest, responsive, and we’re looking out for us - not looking to make the biggest profit off of us. We called him out last winter when our furnace stopped working, his crew attempted an economical fix first to see if that would do and returned quickly when it was determined that the best thing to do for our money was to replace it. He got us set up with a really nice unit that he can get parts for in the future and didn’t oversize us. It works great and we finally have a working humidifier now too. It’s been working great and I recommend All Star to anyone I know who needs a good HVAC person with great people. He’ll have all of our future business because his level of service and professionalism are unmatched in this area (Ionia County).
Larry and his team are amazing. Super professional and helpful, and did a fantastic job replacing our furnace, AC, and water heater. He came highly recommended from many friends, and now I recommend him every chance I get.
I trust Larry and his crew 100% with all things HVAC in our home. We had an outdated heater and AC unit that we needed to replace a few years ago and he was so great about telling us the details of what we needed—and what we didn’t need. His team are true artists and the new system looks incredible (we added a hot water heater as well)! We have them come out each season to inspect everything and make sure it’s running efficiently, and everyone who has come has been amazing. All this is almost secondary though—I initially went with Larry because of his strong stances on racial justice and we are always looking to support businesses that do The Work as well as do the work. I tell everyone who mentions they might be in the market for HVAC work to check out Larry. Highly recommend!!

I had a great experience with Chris at All Star Mechanical tonight. My furnace suddenly stopped working tonight -- a Saturday night. I called the mechanic company we used before and left a message for an emergency. Nobody returned my call at all. I started with a text message to Larry’s number and luckily got a response within around 5 minutes even though he is on vacation and asked me to call the number, which is forwarded to his team member Chris, who picked up the phone call around 8pm on a Saturday night. We are so lucky that he is willing to come to check right away. Chris is so professional and patient. He found the problem --- the blower is broken. If to replace a new blower, it needs to be ordered and wait. He is so smart and considerate – He replaced the blower motor. It worked !!! He cleaned up two things, which prevent future possible issues. Thank you, Chris, for fixing our furnace so that our family doesn't need to suffer from a cold night and weekend. We will definitely switch to All Star Mechanical from now on.
We have been through a couple of HVAC companies in the area and we will not call anyone else from now on. All Star completed a full furnace and AC replacement quickly and did an incredible job. 10/10 recommend.
Highly recommend Larry and his team! My furnace broken down the week before Christmas. I called them and Larry showed up the same day and did a very thorough assessment. His team also went above and beyond than just installing a new furnace; they also removed some old pipes and made our system more efficient. We were able to have heat again within two days thanks to them!
I called All Star Mechanical after my furnace went out. I had no heat on one of the coolest days. Staff came to my house on time and fixed my furnace. I had heat the same day. I really appreciate their professional and reliable service. I have used them twice now and each time they fixed the problem and explained the issue. Will definitely use them again. They are outstanding!
