I had a water heater issue after a plumber worked on some pipes in my house. The plumber couldn’t diagnose the problem and told me to call a water heater repair company. I called Air-O-Smith based on reviews I read. Martin asked me a boatload of questions about my solar heater, then proceeded to walk me through possible solutions over the phone. The advice he gave was spot-on, and reassured me that I could cancel our appointment, which was set up for later in the day. Problem solved! All via telephone and no cost to me. Martin was cordial, professional, and above all, highly knowledgeable. In the future, I will not hesitate to call on him for any future maintenance and repairs. Mahalo!
I rarely post anything regarding any business dealing, however I feel compelled to post this review of Air-O-Smith. I contacted Louise on Sunday and got back to her on Monday regarding what I thought was a needed solar water heater tank. I was given a very reasonable quote to complete the job. On Friday, Martin, who is owner of Air-O-Smith, showed up ready to replace my solar water heater. After inspecting it, he said that the water heater was still okay and I should have at least two more years use. He then fixed the pump, replaced a couple leaking valves and saved me well over $1000. I just was so impressed by his honesty and professionalism. When I do need a new solar water heater, he's the man I'll call. His wife Louise who runs the office is extremely helpful and friendly.
Superb service and honest broker. Martin showed up when he said, no BS assessment and estimate. Fixed it on the spot and presented options to do the repair. Everything you expect and hope for. Plus, Martin is just a nice guy. Highly recommend!

Thank you for your honest opinion on my 25 yr old solar water heater. He was fast and efficient and found away to get me hot water instantly while Giving me a chance to put together the funds for a new solar heater! I will definitely call him again!
Our solar water heater was not functioning and we have had 2 other plumbers look at it and didn't do the job right. These plumbers were costly. My husband found air-o-smith and got an appmnt right away on a saturday. He was honest and told us exactly what was wrong and fixed it. That's integrity and love. I like it when pple treat the work like they're fixing their own. We have had hot water, got a new tank and are comforted knowing that we paid for honest work. We'll use this biz again. I highly rec him.
I called Air-o-Smith after receiving a call from my tenant that the water heater was not producing hot water. Air-O-Smith coordinated an appointment with my tenant. During the initial call, I asked how much it would cost to replace my water heater and explained to them that I wasn’t sure if it needed to be replaced. I wanted to see how much it was going to cost me in a “worst case scenario.” The lady asked me how old my water heater was and I said it was at least 12 years old and she said, “Well, it probably needs to be replaced.” (Or words to that effect) She then quoted me a price of $795 plus tax. I assumed their plumber was going to check the water heater to see why it was not working properly before replacing it. (You know what happens when one assumes. Lol Well, you get a water heater for $850 plus tax. lol) While replacing the water heater, the plumber determined that a ball valve was broken and needed to be replaced and it would cost an additional $75. My tenant tried calling/texting me to inform me of this; but I didn’t receive the text and missed calls until hours later. I called him immediately; and, he said the plumber had already completed the work. He (tenant) told me that he told the plumber that he should not start the work until getting an approval from me for the additional cost. The plumber called his shop and the lady told him to do replace the water heater anyway. I was happy with their response time and their willingness to schedule an appointment with my tenant. However, this is what I was not happy about: First, I think the plumber should have checked out the water heater to see if it could be repaired before just assuming it needed to be replaced and replacing it. Secondly, Air-O-Smith wanted to charge me an additional $75 to replace a plastic ball valve, but charged me $55. (Still quite pricey when you can purchase a ball valve for about $5-$10 and the installation is as simple as screwing a hose onto a faucet .) I thi
Air-O-Smith has installed multiple gas water heaters and provided service for a number rental properties. Over the last ten years we have asked for assistance on various gas water heater installations and this company has always provided speedy and efficient service. I would highly recommend this company.
