My tenant called, stating that the air conditioner wasn’t working. We live in Houston TX, doing the summer months very hot with 95-102 degrees temperatures. I had my tenant to call Air Check Mechanical, now it was a Sunday morning. Mr. Donald was on his way to church. After church services he was there. He analyzed the problem and Monday morning was there to take care of it. He give me an option to fix the unit or replace. By 5:00pm my tenant had cool air blowing. I highly recommend this company. Very professional service is rendered at all times. Was very pleased.

Donald was the epitome of professional. Scheduling was very simple and he showed up on time. He spend a good deal of time diagnosing the problem with my portable AC unit. The problem was a dead compressor. He advised me that repair would be more expensive than probably buying a new unit. I am very appreciative of his honesty. I would readily use Donald in the future for any AC problems.
My service man came when promised, performed the service that was requested. He was knowledgeable, courteous and was able to answer my questions.

Please read before scheduling! I called Donald and Air Check and Mechanical out to look at my A/C and Heating unit. Upon looking at the furnace unit, Donald informed us that the control board on the furnace was completely “shot” and that it would primarily need to be replaced before he could move forward with anything else. He quoted me $760 dollars (receipt above). $500 for the part and $260 for labor. The overall service was for REPLACING the control board. Donald stated that payment needed to be given so that he may go and purchase the part because customers had developed a pattern of backing out of payment after the parts were purchased. I paid him. He went and got the part. He soon discovered that there was an electrical issue and that an electrician would need to be called out. Him and the electrician retuned the next day and the electrician discovered that the outlets that provide power to the furnace unit was burned out. The electrician changed out the previously burned unit wiring and stated that this was the root cause of the furnace not holding power. Donald stated that he will still need to troubleshoot the new control board with the electrical problems now solved. At that time, the old control board was still installed (I observed it). 15 minutes later Donald and the electrician return downstairs and say everything is working fine. 1) Heating (which was out because of the control board supposedly) 2) the new control board 3) electrical. Donald sticks around a little longer to look at the AC unit. We discussed the AC and then I asked him to give me the old control board at the special request of a family member. He states that it’s in his van and he will return it. He packs up, gets in a his van and LEAVE. I thought that was strange so I called and told him that he forgot to leave my old control board. He states that the ELECTRICIAN took it with him and that he would need to coordinate with the electrician to get it back. At this point, I realized I
PLEASE DO NOT UTILIZE THIS SERVICE!!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!! 0/10 STARS! DO NOT RECOMMEND! Please heed my warning: serviceman DONALD COMPTON does not conduct himself or business with integrity. He was called to my home to fix my heater unit. He quoted me $750 to replace a box board/part of unit. He came the following day with an electrician who diagnosed a separate issue. In sum, I paid the electrician too and the electrician fixed the problem. DONALD COMPTON DID NOT REPLACE PART, NOR DID HE REFUND $750 FOR PART THAT I PAID FOR. I had several HVAC technicians come out after him to verify that he did not do work or replace part that he said he would. When I called DONALD COMPTON BACK, he lied and refused to negotiate or refund. He took the part back and kept my money. I am now in the process of suing him and filing a legal claim/taking him to court. I have doorbell footage, recorded phone calls, and voice audios that I took of him explaining these things but I cannot share until after my case. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. This man will laugh in your face while swindling you. PLEASE WITHHOLD BOOKING THIS MAN BECAUSE I AM AIMING TO GET WHATEVER LICENSURE HE CLAIMS TO HAVE REVOKED.

Our heater stopped working, and we reached out to this business after researching several businesses in the proximity. There is another business near by that contains obvious fake reviews in order to boost their ratings. The reviews seemed very genuine in Air Check Mechanical Service, so I decided to call on a Sunday morning. Fortunately, the reviews for this business are accurate. Mr. Donald assisted us with our issue and was able to get the heater running . He provided thorough explanations towards the process and answered any questions we had with great detail. I would definitely recommend him.
We gave Mr Donald a called today to come check our Ac that was not cooling he came out checked it out and found out exactly what was wrong with it ! We were so happy especially in this Houston Heat we’re so lucky to find him he’s very knowledgeable & knows what he’s doing !! He fixed the issue & our ac is back to cooling ! Thank you again Mr Donald ! Will recommend to everyone ! Update -10/20/2022 We called Mr Donald out again due to our Heater not working and I must say we are very pleased with his service he really knows his stuff ! This review is long overdue! I first found Air Check on the Nextdoor app when my heater wasn’t working in the short time span that is actually winter in Houston! I think it was in January of 2018. I was given a same day appt. and not only was the price affordable but it has been working ever since! Thank you so much! I would definitely use again!
My air conditioner was blowing hot air and not cooling. I sought out recommendations on my Next door Neighbor app and Mr. Don was one of the recommendations on my post. I reached out to several companies and Mr. Don with Aircheck was the first to get back with me in a timely manner to service my home. He made sure to update me along the way after his diagnosis and was able to get my system back up and cooling in a timely manner. I am pleased with the work and would highly recommend him and his company again.
I requested a system check of my A/C system to give me an idea of what I have in my house. Donald explained everything as he ran a diagnostic on each of the major parts of my system. He also recommended a newer system that would help me save money in the long run as my system turned out to be ancient.
Donald is usually quick on getting to you and efficient with the repairs. Very good pricing as well.

We had our thermostat wire chewed up by our dog. This morning woke up to thermostat being off i called Mr.Donald whose business showed up in my area with amazing reviews! In mins we had our appt confirmed and him being on our doorstep 15mins later very efficient, Informative, professional and honest and reasonable!! Will recommend for anyone with any ac issues!!
