I didn't know where to start but after reading the reviews I do. Please remember there is a difference between the man that does the repair and the warranty company that approves (disapproves) the repairs. I had / have a home warranty, Cinch / Total Protect. Total Protect doesn’t always mean total. They sent someone out from Sears Home Services and it was basically a two-week fiasco that resulted with my claim being denied. Now I’m stuck but I remembered I kept Richard Cook’s information from Advanced Service Co. because he and his crew did a fantastic job 3 years prior on my furnace. So, I gave him a call. To my surprise, “he” answered the phone. We set up an appointment for the next day. He came out on time, diagnosed the problem and we set up a plan. He gave me a VERBAL estimate. A third party, an electrician, had to be involved and we have a guy we like. Richard called us to check the status and confirm his appointment. Everything was set for a two-day job which finished last night, late last night. The crew run into some problems which I know happens. Now it’s late Friday night after a long week. I felt sorry them. I would have been disgruntled and frustrated. Not them, they were pleasant and kind, good guys, Mark and Reggie. Now it’s time to settle up and I’m expecting to pay than more than the estimate because time is money, and it took more time. Richard says to me, “I gave you an estimate and I’m a man of my word” and then he hands me the invoice. It’s exactly what he quoted me. I know he wasn’t happy about it. Shoot, I wasn’t happy about it. I felt like I was stealing. but I’ll never call anyone else to fix my furnace or AC. I don’t know what more you could ask for, Richard’s old school. He showed up, he showed up on time, he worked till the job was done, he fixed the problem, and he’s honest.
I recently bought a house that includes an AHS warranty. As soon as outdoor temperatures hit the 90s, my upstairs A/C stopped working. I filed a claim online with AHS on 5/19 and received confirmation that Advanced Service Co. would contact me within "24 business hours" to schedule an appointment. Of course, I immediately looked up their reviews and was dismayed (but not surprised) to find plenty of negative comments. Not surprisingly, Advanced Service Co. never contacted me, and they canceled the work order on 5/22 without my knowledge nor consent. Now I've gone without upstairs A/C for a week, and I'm starting the process over. Thanks, jackholes!
Dishonest company. Will not respond when you try to follow up because the work they did failed to correct the issue.
Awful customer service! Today was the day Joey stated Advance Service Company would be out to assess my heating issue. I contacted them this morning only to be sent to a full mailbox. Since I have a home warranty company, I was able to find another contractor without voiding my warranty. Action Services were able to resolve my issue within an hour of contacting them. Action Services are contractors of my home warranty company so no issues there. So, 5 stars for Action Services. Still no call from Advanced Service Company. This was also the company who installed a basic all electric thermostat in a home that had a gas furnace. I would never recommend this company to family, friends not enemies.
They were assigned to me through a home warranty. I was very pleased with the technician and his quality of work.

Great experience! Our AC stopped working at 4pm on Wednesday, we called our home warranty people and they referred us to Advance Service Co, AC was fixed by noon the next day, thanks!
One star still may be giving this company too much credit. ASC was supposed to complete warranty work for us. After checking our HVAC system and diagnosing the problem they said they created a temporary fix until our part was shipped. This "temporary fix" did more detriment to our system and made our living conditions worse. They bypassed the circuit board and only the heat would come on, not the AC. So for 24 hours a day we had the heat on while the daily temperatures were in excess of 90 degrees. When trying to call them to remedy the situation they hurried us off the phone and would not return the repeated calls we left. Once we finally got Richard on the phone he said the heat was on because "he didn't know how to use our thermostat". Yes, those words came out of an HVAC technician's mouth. If you are looking for a company to perform quality work steer clear of ASC.
Horrible customer service. They hardly touched my system before "diagnosing" it as a bad thermostat which he then replaced. I have had extensive issues with my system in the past which I tried to detail to them, but they didn't appear to really care. When their "fix" to my issue didn't work he blamed it on the weather and then refused to come back out to further inspect the issue. I regret wasting any of my time, energy, and money on this company. Edit: I had another company Moonlight Mechanical come out who are amazing....and actually provided a legitimate diagnosis to my system which was NOT a thermostat issue.
I give Advanced Service Co of Richmond, VA, my highest recommendation! I recently moved into a new home, and experienced an issue with the heat pump. The house was covered by a Home Warranty, and the Service Desk referred me to Advanced Service Co, located not far from where I live, on the South side of Richmond. Richard (of Advanced Service Co) called me within 5 minutes of my call to the Home Warranty group. We scheduled a service call for the next day (we had some heat, so we didn't need him out that night). Richard assessed the situation, and advised that the thermostat was the likely culprit. He thoroughly checked the heating system, replaced the faulty thermostat, found another issue that he also took care of, and now the heat pump is working like a champ! I found Richard and his assistant to be very knowledgeable, personable and capable. Above all, I found them to be very honest and trustworthy. I would not hesitate to recommend this Company, and will keep their number on file in case I need assistance in the future!
