great christian company. highly recommend.
Honest AC companies are hard to come by. This is an honest AC company. Bill and Philip worked on my AC unit and get me up and running quick. Not only did they replace a bad capacitor, they made recommendations to prevent this situation in the future with an additional start capacitor to reduce the initial startup load on the main capacitor. They also refilled refrigerant on my mini-split unit in my garage and explained that it may not even be worth the cost to diagnose a minor leak since the mini-split itself was only $2k brand new. Additionally the replacement part might be expensive compared to the price of the unit, so he just recommended filling it up again which may last 1-2 years. Diagnosis, options, and reasons for everything performed are cornerstones to honest business. Definitely keeping their number for the future.
I was in NYC on a trip when my AC system stopped working. I got a call from my son letting me know about the AC system failure, I called an Abundant Air, Inc to look at my system, I was very specific that they needed to call or text me what they found, what work needed to be done and what the cost of the work would be to fix the system. I told them my son was home and could provide my credit card info, but that I had to approve of any work before making payment. The AC company wanted to charge me $4000 to replace a $300 Lineset that they claimed was leaking, so I told them absolutely not, I felt they they were trying to take advantage of the situation and that I would not pay $4000 to replace a $300 lineset, and that I'd go to a different company for a 2nd opinion. They said that's fine I'd just have to pay $1150 for their service call where the tech spent 30 minutes at my house and put 7 pounds of R410A into my system to get it running again. I asked why they had done any work without my authorization and they told me my son had approved the work to be done. My son denies this. He tells me that the AC Tech told him I had approved all the repair work so he gave them my credit card information thinking I approved it, My bank flagged this transaction as potential Fraud and denied the payment, probably because I was in NYC at the time of the transaction. I tried to talk to a person who claimed to be one of the owners, I wanted an explanation why they had preformed work without my approval, and I wanted to understand how they came up with the $1150 charge, but the person on the phone would not answer any of my questions. The Invoice I have is for work that was not done (Lineset replacement), and the amount they want to collect ($1150) is for the downpayment on the lineset replacement that will not be done by this company. They are refusing to give me an invoice for the actual service call or explain how they think I owe them $1150 and are just threatening a lawsuit.
