I only gave him 1 star because the option to give him 0 stars was unavailable. He came to the house, quickly decided our unit needed freon, argued with my wife about whether this would adequately address the issue, and then left. 24 hours later, the house was just as hot as it was before he got there, we were out the $100 deductible and the additional cost of the freon, and we still had a non-functional AC unit. I was shocked at how little of his refrigeration education he put to use in fixing our problem.
This guy is a scammer working in cahoots with warranty companies. Here is how the scam works: The warranty company schedules him to handle your claim. He shows up and does a brief, cursory inspection, concludes that the problem is due to a lack of maintenance, does nothing to actually diagnose the problem, takes your money and leaves. The warranty company loves it because now they can deny your claim and you will have to fight tooth and nail in order to get them to take your word over his. Am I just an idiot who failed to read my contract like he suggests of another reviewer? Or is he really the lazy, conniving, incompetent, scammer that the rest of his reviews suggest? You be the judge: He was sent to my house by HMS Home Warranty to diagnose a problem with my A/C unit. I had already hired a reputable service provider (5.0 stars on Google) for a second opinion as HMS had given me a run around for a week before he showed up. The technician I hired had arrived before him and had thoroughly checked my HVAC inside and out in order to diagnose the problem. The refrigerant was leaking and due to the low amount, the condenser coil would need to be replaced. The technician that I hired had also shut off the power to the unit before leaving in order to prevent any further issues. When the ABC technician arrived, the A/C unit would not power on for him, and he concluded that the problem must be electrical. Unfortunately, I was not home when the ABC tech arrived, and he was too stupid to know how to troubleshoot the 'electrical' problem on his own. You see, I have another (out of service) A/C unit right next to the one that he was there to diagnose, and he was too lazy to trace the wires to determine which was the correct shut off for the unit, so he looked at the wrong shut off. In the midst of his 'diagnosis' he also checked the freon levels and told my wife that there was plenty. He asked my wife when we had last had maintenance performed on the unit, since
ABC came to my residence on a service call to repair 3 light switches and 1 outlet in my kitchen via HMS Home Warranty. One of the techs appeared that he didn't have a clue what he was doing and was rude. Not only did they not fix the issue and advise me that I would have to call my home warranty company to send another company out to repair it "because they had other customer scheduled and didn't have time to repair", but when they filed the report to HMS, they stated Job Complete/No problem found. I still have lights out and and an outlet not working. All they did was remove covers of wall plates to test for hot lines, and check my breakers. They didn't bother to trace to the source of the problem at all, probably because they were incapable of getting into my attic. There are lots of bad reviews on this company and it appears they are simply out to get Home Warranty fees, and fixing simple issues. I wouldn't have setup the appointment if it was a loose wire or breaker. Thanks for nothing.
Came out, gave me a quote of $125 but refused to do the job because it was going to take an hour and a half to complete and he was allergic to dogs. Really?

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Does not do a thorough inspection and expects disabled homeowners to take care of things themselves. Was rude and hung up on us. I wouldn't waste your money because that is what my Mom did. Ughhhh
Avoid!!!! Work is done with cheap parts, by unskilled technicians. After multiple issues we called another company who explained multiple ways in which ABC failed to deliver.
