Our AC unit broke in the summer of 2020. West County came out and quoted us. We compared with two other companies that we like to use. West County had the best price and quality. They scheduled the work right away. They were on time, clean, and friendly. I like to ask questions and they were accommodating.
UPDATE: Early in summer 2021, AC began to lose cooling ability. Called West County for troubleshooting and Bob (owner) refilled the freon and it seemed fine. Within a week it was not cooling again. He returned but could not find any reason for the failure. We called another company that has done work for us for a second opinion. They used a sniffer and found a leak in a hose that was damaged during installation. We called Bob with this information and he had his guys come to fix it. AC worked again for a short time then was failing again! Bob still could not find the cause. The other company came again and tested the lines with more pressure than Bob used. They discovered a leak in the portion of the AC that is installed with the furnace. This problem was a manufacturer error and Bob reached out to get a replacement under warranty. It took a few weeks for it to be shipped, and then weeks more before Bob's guys came to install. At this point, it was too cold to add freon and turn it on to test the new part. We spent most of the summer without a working AC despite it being less than a year old. We asked Bob to reimburse us for the service calls by the other company ($375 total), and he agreed. That agreement was made in the summer when we called for a second opinion the first time, and we still have not received reimbursement.
