    Back in February 2017 we had our AC and Furnace replaced by Backus Heating and Cooling (Company's name is now J & M Heating and Cooling). Everything started out fine until I gave them the required money to purchase the equipment. Then it was a challenge getting them out, always had excuses on why... they couldn't make it or even better not showing up and not communicating. Quality of work was not to par, the pvc drain line had to be fixed 3 times, first time looked like it was cut with a butter knife. They set the ac unit in place after cutting the old lines and never hooked ac unit up, they told me its better to hook it up when its warmer but they never capped the copper lines so moisture got into the lines. I ended up paying another company in May 2017 to finish hooking up my ac due to not getting a response from Backus. I was suppose to receive a new ac pad, ac disconnect and ac cover which I never received, the other company that finished the job provided it. Backus offered a refund of $391 for unfinished work back in April but I have still yet to receive any refund. They will not reply to any of my recent communications. We had to get this taken care of asap before it got to warm since my 3yr old son has asthma which this was also communicated with Backus.

    The Mac PAC

    We had them do our air unit.everything inside was already done so literally all they had to hook up is the outside unit. And of course wire it. They came was nice people especially the wife but had wires wrong and did not have the unit running when they left and of course wanted paid. So my husband ended up doing most of the work he figured out what was wrong the installer had the wires ran wrong. So my husband ended up having to do the work and fixing and ordering the part that we needed. They were supposed to come back and finish the job after we paid them when it wasnt done and didnt show up when they were supposed to and when I texted them to ask when they were coming he said yeah then tomorrow then " have to find or get the part" just excuses and mind you he was paid AND THE JOB WAS FAR FROM DONE. So my husband finished and ordered our part his self and I told them we didnt need them to finish. As far as people they were nice but the job was not done right and we got ripped off because we pretty much did and finished our own job minus the refrigerant. And I would have been more happy with a free estimate his site on here says free but he charged us 70 dollars just to come look at it. So PEOPLE BE CAUTIOUS TO WHO YOU HIRE ON HERE we paid 600 dollars and bought our own supplies.

    Horrible experience, they installed a different system than what we asked for and was on the quote. Wont respond to phone calls only texts. Many issues with the system they installed and multiple no-shows and cancellations to get it fixed. Just called someone else to look at it and we will have thousands in repairs because they unit was not installed correctly and because of that they wont warranty out parts. Don't do business with them.
