Mike sent out a tech the day my furnace stopped working. The tech was able to get my furnace back up and running the same day temporarily while the part needed was ordered. This company was fast efficient and solved my problem for a fraction of the price of the local big hitters that just wanted to replace it. I would absolutely confidently recommend this outfit.
Woke up this morning to no heat and called before they were even opened. They answered and were ready to send somebody immediately to investigate and repair the problem! They are not only professional but also their service is unmatched. Our system was up and running within a couple of hours of my call. I would highly recommend their services.
I had a furnace installed by Advanced years ago at my home. I chose them mostly because the guy I dealt with was upfront, knowledgeable, explained things well, answered all my questions, and didn't try to oversell. In fact, he recommended not going with one of the more expensive units, as I might never recoup the price difference because of my particular situation.
Years later I purchased a property to fix up for resell. I met with and got quotes from representatives of 3 or 4 local companies for AC installation. It was an easy decision to go with Advanced.
Since then I have had Advanced install 2 more AC units, a furnace, and a heat pump at other properties. I have always been impressed with the quality of their work and attention to detail, their promptness, and how comfortable the installers and other staff are to deal with.
I feel I can always count on Mike D'Andrea (Operations Manager) to be honest and fair, and to provide options but also make cost-effective recommendations for me.
Helen is so nice and reliable in the office, and it has been a pleasure dealing with Jeff and Alex (and others) who do a thorough job and impress me with the quality work they do. When those guys show up, my worries go away....
I recommend Advanced to others whenever the opportunity arises!
I called because of a rumbling noise that I thought was the boiler. It was my hot water tank. After Jeff told me a load of horse manure, he said I needed 2 expansion tanks and a new hot water tank, as well as a new exhaust pipe. $2300 all together. He also didn't close my floor drain properly so my basement flooded after my son showered. He charged me 86 and change for the privilege of cleaning that up. My water tank just needed to be drained. Horrible experience. Thanks for nothing Jeff. Will never call again.! He also told me not to call the office cause "he was selling it", weird right?
Never Hire Advanced Heating and Cooling!! My Generator was working fine before I contacted them for service. October 10th they sent a guy to service my Generator and furnace. He had never service a furnace before. He told me that he was a mechanic and this was the first furnace he was servicing. He started taking everything apart. He remove the Fuse, The battery and turn off the Braker. He did not know what to do next. I told him to stop and call them to send somebody else. October23rd there was a power outage and my Generator did not work. I was up all night pumping water out of the basement.November 1rst they sent someone else who told me that the battery had to be replaced. He replaced it and it worked for about a week.It did not make any sense to me. I contacted them again. This time they told me that I needed a new battery charger and it would cost $474 in addition to the $664.05 I had already paid them.I became very suspicious. At this point I told them to return the battery and I contacted a new service company for a second opinion. The new inspector check everything. He told me that the generator was in good condition and the battery was fine. The problem was caused by the people who serviced the generator. They removed the fuse and turned the Braker off which caused the Battery to die.I feel that I have been taken advantage of. I don't want anybody to go through this. I will be taking further legal action with the papers my new service company provided.
Although the service and system were fine, we were less than pleased with contingencies to our warranty that we learned two years after the fact. In 2010 we had a Furnace/AC system installed by Advanced. We called four companies for estimates and finally chose Advanced due to the system reviews and what appeared to be good warranties. After one year they did a complimentary check to make sure it was still functioning properly. After 2 years they contacted us to schedule our yearly checkup. Due to other major expenses over the summer, our budget did not allow for this extra expense this year. At this point we learned that the full warranty only applied if we purchased the yearly service check at the cost of $89/yr. I read all the paperwork we'd been given at the time of the estimate and NOWHERE did it mention this. I apparently signed a warranty form that finally disclosed this information after they'd been chosen and on the day of installation. I take full responsibility for not reading it thoroughly, but I had no reason to believe that it would be different than what I'd been given to read initially. It's fine if you know what you're getting into and make a conscious choice to accept this clause, but we feel that this was knowingly added later in less than an above board manner. We are now stuck with a warranty for a very expensive system that is a fraction of what we were originally told. We don't want this happening to someone else, so please... ask questions and read that final contract!
Of course, as any homeowner does, I have periodic dealings with service trades.
I am pleased to report that Advanced is outstanding. From Helen (my favorite) who is the initial contact when you call, to the two technicians I've had dealings with.
This is a thoroughly professional company. You'll do well to contact them first.
Mike, the owner, and Aaron, the technician are professional, thorough, and well mannered folks. The diagnosis was quick, thorough, and repaired in a timely manner.
Call the folks at Advanced Heating and Cooling in Penfield. You'll be just as glad as I was that you did.
Mike the owner thinks that he can dictate other business owners pricing. He refused to pay for services he authorized. Terrible business owner with unrealistic expectations with his 'better than you' attitude. NEVER hire Advanced Heating & Cooling

Two years ago they made me buy a new furnace when in reality I didn't have to. All they wanted to do was make a sale. Never again will I call them.
