Highly recommend Rit Fonda for your heating and/or air conditioner needs. Installation, service, and repairs are top-notch as I can see they know what they are doing. I have told all my friends and family about them and hope this review helps you in finding the perfect HVAC company here in the local area for your needs.

When our furnace went out in my office they said they were going to come and never showed. When we called again they showed up the next day and we were told we were going to have to wait 3 weeks for parts. After one week we called to complain as we were freezing it was 54 degrees we had space heaters everywhere. After we complained they miraculously got the parts the next day!! Turns out they were waiting for a kit because it was more convenient than building the kit themselves!! In our most recent experience with Rit Fonda my boss found them to be very rude and unprofessional. I never write reviews but thought this was important and looking at the other reviews we are not alone.

Rit Fonda has worked for over a decade on a furnace and cooling system at a previous home. We then bought a new house and switched to another firm in the area. When we had a no-heat condition this year the other firm indicated that our 10 year old system wasn’t under warranty and we would need to spend $7,000 for a new furnace. We then called Rit Fonda, who came and found the reason why we had a no heat condition (a condensate pump), saving us thousands of dollars that did not need to be spent. - Highly recommend Rit Fonda!

13 years ago, Rit Fonda installed a $10K Weil McLean boiler. Despite 2 service calls for water leaking all over our floors, still leaking. Yesterday we found a hole blown through the heat exchanger which had to be there since the leaks started around December. Now we find Rit Fonda's not done the annual maintenance required to sustain the warranty. And several parts of the original install were done wrong. Now, we need a new boiler. We are SOL. Go elsewhere!!!

Having moved to the area back in 2013 due to my husband's military career, we opted to call a local company for annual servicing of our central AC unit in the home we had purchased. Rit Fonda was quick to accommodate our service request, and we were pleased with the service. We were equally as pleased with the service they provided us in the fall and winter when we requested service to be performed on our furnace. In 2015, with our AC in need of service and/or repair at the present time, we didn't hesitate to contact Rit Fonda for a service call. Again, they were very quick to accommodate our service call, and we were informed that the compressor in our AC unit needed replacing, and that our best bet would be to replace the entire unit. Not a suggestion we disagreed with, but my husband did ask a couple of questions about what the compressor should be doing that it wasn't, just for our own informational purposes. The service tech became defensive, and was quite disrespectful to my husband in his responses. He did tell us to feel free to call and get other estimates, but spoke negatively of several other local companies, telling us that 'they are known for telling you that you'll need a new unit' - which was precisely what the service tech had just done to us. We did request a quote from them for a new AC unit, and were told that someone would be here between 1-2 pm. We did call for quotes from two other local companies, as well, just to have comparison prices. Rit Fonda came to our home to give us the estimate, but opted not to stop in since another company had just finished a quote and were departing. Rit Fonda also opted to not bother calling us to tell us of their decision to not give us an estimate. Requests to speak to the owner of the company were also declined, and zero follow up was ever given. We were thoroughly surprised and disappointed at the lack of professionalism displayed by Rit Fonda, as well as the complete disregard they exhibited knowing that our home included a three day old newborn baby, and some very hot weather approaching. We simply wanted the service and estimate needed for repair to be handled as promptly as possible. While we didn't hesitate to contact them for service, and recommended their company to others based on early interactions with the company, we knew after the horrible experience with them in 2015 that we would not do so again in the future. Having moved out of state a year ago and STILL learning of dissatisfaction with service provided by, or lack thereof, Rit Fonda from several friends and acquaintances throughout the Capital District, I felt compelled to update and repost, hoping to lessen the chances of people receiving awful customer service and utter lack of regard for those who simply wanted to exercise their rights as a consumer to obtain estimates and make a choice based on several factors, with cost being the least important of those. Professionalism, pride in their product and their service, and respectful handling of their customers are paramount...and still sorely lacking.

I moved into my house last year and started having issues with my furnace, while the service was timely all they did was open it up look at it and do some minor debris cleaning. Never checked any of the other components and suggested I replace a part which I did. The issues persisted into this year and the second time I called them they now say they aren't certified to work on my furnace. YouTube has been more help then they were.

This place is a fraud. They put my furnace in the year of 1997, I've had every service and repair since then with the list attached to my furnace. Well I had the same tech coming year after year a tall thin guy by the name of Mike then last year they send some stocky short guy I wasn't home for but my husband was and said the service went well, I had this company come back in April to service my central air as I do. Every year this time same. Guy came I was talking to him and he said the guy we use to have left well I tried to use my air in May on a day it was hot and it would not get cold so I called they came the next week and the stocky guy said the filter was clogged
