I had an appliance man over to fix my refrigerator and he accidentally broke the water line (it was over 15 yrs old) so I had to call a plumber. I called Port City Plumbing and wish I had read the reviews first. The part was around $20, he sent two people in separate vehicles for a one person job. I thought the other worker was in training. They were in and out of my house in less than 15 minutes, after speaking to their boss of what to charge, they handed me a bill for $300. I was upset and called the owner to discuss the charges. He said part of the expense was to pay for gas for the vehicles, they are only 3 miles from my house. The appliance man worked on the refrigerator for an hour and a half and his bill was $280. The owner was very rude and said if I wrote a review about what happened he would sue me. The owner is not honest and over charges. Stay clear of this business!! NEW REPLY TO OWNER’S RESPONSE; you reduced the price because I was really angry and $265 was still not close to what it should have been. I wish I hadn’t paid you a penny and you took me to court. you said in your reply, they replaced the tube and the ice maker, that is a lie. The ice maker was already connected, they only had to replace the tube that the repair man broke. I hope enough people complain that you go out of business, you should be ashamed of yourself!!!!!! I just read another complaint about you ripping somebody else off, she said, how does he sleep at night? I wrote back “I believe in karma, he will get what’s coming to him tenfold”.

This is your number 1 shop for all plumbing needs in the seacoast area. Amazing service, quality work & a fair price are just a few things this company thrives on. Dylan and crew are excellent mechanics and can be trusted to get the job done professionally every time. Joe is the man!

I brought my newborn home from the hospital to find my toilet and sink were leaking. With barely any sleep I called Port City and they came right away to fix both issues. Unfortunately the next day I noticed underneath my sink was still leaking. Dylan came right back over and figured out it was actually a cracked basin to the sink causing the issue and I didn’t have the ability to go out and shop for a new vanity.
During a freezing rain storm he drove to the store and came back to patch up the sink and everywhere else he could and relieved me of so much extra stress. Almost a week later and that seems to have fixed it for now.
This is what I call customer service!!! A big thank you to Dylan and to the owner for helping my new family out in such a crazy time. I will gladly support your business in the future because of this kind gesture.

Port City Plumbing is excellent. We had an emergency plumbing issue and they immediately responded and were able to send two people right away. Tim and Shane were excellent, professional, and efficient, they found the source of our leak and fixed it right then and there. We are very grateful for them! Thank you guys so much for your help!! -Nicole and Tyler

Very responsive with quick service but overpriced!! Asked how they typically bill before plumber was on site and they wouldn’t give me an answer. They then charged $195 for 25 minutes on site for only putting some silicone sealant in my shower. Yet to get response back from them on how they calculated the bill. Besides what seems to be a ridiculous price the plumber was great.

Prompt, professional and expert service. Very impressed with their responsiveness to emergent issues. I've had a few issues (new hot water heater and bath tub drain in need of repair) and they were available to help almost immediately. Prices were fair and the work was top notch. Highly recommend!

OVERCHARGED!!! If I had read reviews prior, I would have known this would happen! Needed new overfill alarm whistle. Scheduled work 4 days out. They showed up and finished the work in less than 45 min. The one Part on line went for $30-$45. No cutting of any pipes......Charged me $395! They first tried to claim mileage. 20 miles * 0.52 = $10.40!!!! Then then actually called me back with another excuse....they said it was an emergency call even though I scheduled this four days out. They did not inform me 4 days later would still be an emergency

When we moved into our new store location, the toilet was broken. The handle had snapped and the gasket worn through. I called up Port City and Leanne answered right away with a calm, friendly voice. She made an appointment for the next morning. Joe arrived ready with tools in hand. Our toilet was fixed in under 30 minutes. Friendly, dressed professionally and wore a smile the whole time. I would love to pay in bitcoin!

Port City came out to our building for about an hour (at the most) to repair a broken drain pipe. When I dared to politely question the $500+ they charged us for FOUR hours (!!!!) of labor, I got nothing but a hostile attitude and defensiveness. "if its so easy, why didn't you guys fix it?'", "are you trying to say we're ripping you off?", "what, you expect us to work for free?" etc, etc Yeah, they are responsive and capable, but they will charge you $115 per hour for the time it takes them to collect the materials they require to do the job. This is a company that is five minutes away from us. Their loss. As someone that's responsible for five large buildings in the area, I definitely wouldn't call them again. Like anyone else, we were just looking for a fair price. With a $522 bill for a $300 job, we didn't find it here.
