Comfort-Temp Heating & Cooling

I was disappointed with Comfort-Temp due to the lack of urgency to get my A/C unit working in a timely manner. I purchased a new Furnace Unit from them in fall of 2020 and this was the first time I had any problems with the unit. I contacted them and explained to the receptionist that the outdoor condenser was working but the blower was not working (no air flow). I even put it on Heat and I could hear the furnace cutting on but no blower motor sound or air flow. She promptly told me the first appointment would be the next week (this was a Wednesday). I complained (No A/C with 90 deg temps) and she was able to find an opening in two days on Friday morning, this was the earliest appointment. During this time we were having a heat wave in S.E. Michigan 90 deg days in June. The technician arrived during the schedule time window and proceeded to diagnose the furnace. He was a nice technician very professional and understanding. He determined the motor was not working and a replacement was needed. The part was under warranty but the 2 yr. labor warranty had expired a few months prior. It turned out they didn't have my motor in stock and the nearest location was in Indiana and I had to wait until the next week for the replacement. I wasn't contacted that Monday to let me know if the part was available. I had to contact them and set up the appointment. They fit me in on Monday and the part was replaced. I was charged $180.00 of which $90 was the trip cost and $90 (1 hour) for the labor. I kept track of the time because the Tech had previously quoted it would be about 2 hours to replace the motor.
My issue was how service call was handled, first I gave them adequate information on the issue but nothing was done to prepare for the service call and see if they had the right parts to repair the unit. They waited until the tech diagnosed the problem. They could have used the two days before the appointment to check inventory and order the necessary parts, especially the motor. Second, if I had pushed I would had wait till next week to get the initial service call. Third, I purchased a Trane Furnace because of their reliability and didn't expect the unit to go out right after the labor warranty expired. It seemed like it was last year that I got the unit. Due to closeness of the warranty expiration date and the fact I had to wait 5 days they should have repaired it for free.

Comfort-Temp was on the more affordable side from the 4 quotes we got before committing. Better quality machine than others quoted us and got us on the schedule quickly.

Installers were super friendly and communicated well throughout process. They asked for our input when needed on how we wanted things done. Would definitely recommend.

1st company I called for a bid r/g replacing my AC. Ken was great. Responsive. I did my research. Finally after 4 bids total, I went with Comfort-temp. Best price for a better unit. Tom and his assistant came out and did a phenomenal job replacing my unit. Thank you Comfort-temp for a great job.

Comfort Temp has installed all our heating and cooling equipment for over 30 years. They are reasonable and true to their word. Nick came out last week to find out why my a/c wasn’t working, which was my fault lol, and as always he was on time and explained everything. He is such a nice young man. Comfort Temp does not disappoint!

From the initial call to the end of installation my experience with Comfort Temp was excellent. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the service people, estimator, and office person. I had a new bathroom fan installed and vented out the gable. I will be using them for all my HVAC needs in the future!!
