Comfort Air Conditioning

Beware of this company! Comfort Air out of Metairie is garbage! Robert is a liar and completely unprofessional. The home warranty assigned my A/C unit claim to them. It was a nightmare! When I tried to set up an appointment, I got no answer and no one ever returned my messages. When the home warranty intervened, he finally set up an appointment. By that time, nearly two weeks had gone by . Once the appointment was made, he didn't show up when he said he would, without any notice. When confronted about it, he brushed it off like nothing was wrong with his handling of the situation. He then offered to come, but at late times in the evening. When he did finally come out to do the repair, his "fix" lasted a day and a half. He was supposed to come back out when the job wasn't resolved. Again, he said he would come back out and for two consecutive days, failed to show up, with NO notice! Absolutely unbelievable!. He lied to the home warranty company about what he was telling me. Robert told them he was only coming out if he had other jobs in the area. Mind you, it's 80 plus degrees in my house and I have kids. The home warranty allowed him to work like this. They asked me if I wanted him to come out on a holiday because he offered to send "his guy" then. I specifically told the home warranty to NOT send him out and I was done. Can you believe this guy called me on that holiday saying he'd have someone there in 20 minutes? I was totally about to lose it. Needless to say, we had some choice words on the phone. Of course, I was put in the position to find a company on my own and dish out more money to have my unit repaired. And after that company's assessment of my unit, I am certain that Comfort Air intentionally knew that whatever he did to "fix" my unit would not have resolved the problem anyway, which is why he kept avoiding coming back. This company is not even worth the one star, but I had to choose something, right? This company should not be in business at all.

A few years ago this company installed a new A/c and furnace for us. Over the weekend our ceiling almost fell in due to a long term leak. We had Hauck come out to see what was going on. They found everything was installed half way. Instead of sealing the furnace properly they taped it.. they threw the old furnace in the corner of the attic instead of removing it, they did not change the 19 year old coil like we we’re told they would which is ultimately what caused the leak, and the A/c unit we were sold and told would last over 25 years is will have to be replaced next year because it is the old type of Freon. The estimate to repair the work they did for me is $7,6000.

POOR customer service. Attitude with customers. Callous & unprofessional. I'm telling anyone who will listen DO NOT use this company. Told him I have asthma he says everyone says that. Give your money to someone reliable & kind. Im calling the HVAC licensing board, LA Board of Contractors, & my home warranty service so what happened to me will not happen to anyone else in heat that can kill people with medical conditions.
