    I have scheduled an appointment with them through my home warranty program. The 1st appointment they did NOT show up or call. Once I called the day they were to show he claimed the verbal agreement was not confirmation. Rescheduled for the following Saturday between 8-12 and what do you know another No call no show! He then claimed our appointment was between 12-4 without any apology. I will NOT sit around the house waiting for them to mess me over for a 3rd time.

    Of course our reviews should be written about our personal experiences, good or bad. Express Heating & Cooling was scheduled to come to my house from a scheduled and confirmed appointment, between 12p-4p. During a cold stretch in Chicago while we’re going though a subzero temperature streak outside, my furnace was not heating my house past a certain temperature. I called American Home Shield for help. They assigned Express Heating & Cooling to be my furnace repair company. I was called by Express Heating & Cooling the same day, later in the evening, so I thought we were off to a great start. I scheduled my appointment, and due to the time window that was given, I took the day off from work to get my heat restored. On the day of scheduled service, mid-way through my time window, I called Express to find out an estimated time of arrival, and I was told by the technician that he was clearing one job, and had an unexpected “service request” for another, and would make it to my place upon completion. At 4:40(40mins after my time window) the service tech called to inform me that he had gotten another “service request”, and that he wouldn’t be able to make it to my residence “at all”. I thought I offered a reasonable solution by offering to be available anytime during the day after he finished the other “service request”, but I was told that they would not be coming out to service my furnace at all. Points to be taken into consideration are, (1) I lost money because I had to take off from work; (2) They chose to place other customers over myself and my issues, even though I had scheduled my appointment two days prior; (3) The only thing they could offer was, “I’m sorry, we’ve been really busy”. I’ve had bad customer service before, but horrible customer service procedures and actions prompts me to share. This experience made me feel worthless as a customer to them. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this company to friends, family, or associates.

    Criminals in business suits - stay away. These were my assigned contractors from AHS for three separate visits specified below:

    1) pre-season tuneup: changed my air filters incorrectly. Had v-shaped configuration. Changed one side and forgot the other. Noted my system was low on Freon and required another service call. Should’ve known to stop after the filter issue.
    2) recharged Freon for $300
    3) after recharge, my unit was still taking 6+ hours to cool my home from 77 to 71 when it was less than 80 degrees out. Called them back out to take a look and was told it was working within factory spec. Contractor even acknowledged this wasn’t working correctly but refused to issue any sort of resolution other than it needed a second opinion

    Fast forward two weeks - well I got three more opinions and decided replacement was the route I wanted to go. I now have a working HVAC system. New company showed me how clogged the condenser coil outside was. Shame that these guys were out three times, misdiagnosed the issue, stole my $300, and didn’t know what to do after recharging Freon.

    Do not recommend. Stay away!
