I called Don late on a Saturday night. He was here on Sunday and only charged me for a service call.
Seems there was a blown fuse, so he left me another fuse and told me to call back if it happened again.
3 days later it blew the fuse and the replacement. He was here within the hour. This time he found the problem, a tiny rub on a wire that shorted out the fuse.
He repaired and never charged me again.
I highly recommend Don, the Comfortman!

When we woke up to our A/C unit surrounded by a mini-lake in our basement, I initially didn't call Dan Goss at Comfortman because he was so popular and well-reviewed online that I figured I'd never be able to grab a same-day appointment with him. But when the mega-company (who shall go unnamed here) that I DID call contacted me in the afternoon to say they would be arriving much later than the window I had initially booked, I decided to go with my first instinct and call Comfortman with all fingers crossed.
I should have gone with my initial instinct--not only was Dan at our house within an hour after my call, he had our problem diagnosed and fixed in about twenty minutes! He was able to explain what had happened, how I could prevent it in the future, and what NOT to worry about with our unit. And instead of having to decide which credit card I would have to use for all of it, I was able to pay his incredibly reasonable service and labor fee with no problem (and much gratitude). He is efficient and thorough, easy to talk to, remarkably good at what he does, completely focused on customer service and satisfaction, and just a seriously nice guy on top of all of that. Our overall experience with Comfortman could not have been better, and next time I'll have enough sense to call Dan first!

The door switch on AC was broke, the technician from United Air temp switch off AC and ordered the switch, was told that it would come in 3 to 5 business days. It did not come in seven business days (sizzling 90F average!), me calling to Air temp was in vain.
Found Dan through the Nextdoor page, called him evening and he was able to squeeze me in next day.
He hooked up AC without a door switch, got a switch on a third day and all is fixed. Took him literary 15 minutes to diagnose and fix.
Totally recommend. Knowledgeable, responsive, recourse full, affordable, nice man.
You can rely on him, that's a teacher with more than 30 yrs experience talking. :-)

Our old school thermostat decided to die out on us on a Saturday evening on the coldest day of the year! We searched the NextDoor app and found so many recommendations for Dan at Comfortman. I called and he scheduled to come come out the next day (a Sunday). Dan showed up on time, replaced our thermostat with a new smart thermostat, and even checked our HVAC and replaced the filter. He did all of this at such a reasonable price too! I will be using him again and would suggest him to any of my neighbors in the Decatur or Tucker area.

When our AC system lost its freon, I asked four neighbors who they use and three of them said "Dan Goss"! I called him on Friday and he came out late the same day, busy as he was, since it was HOT. Dan gave me a thorough understanding of my options and was extremely good about listening to my concerns and addressed them in his proposed solution. Gave me a competitive quote and an excellent installation using a team of three professionals. A very competent and trustworthy professional, highly recommended. Five stars!

Dan was recommended by neighbors. Last night my heat stopped working and by this AM my home was unbearably cold. I called Dan at 8AM and he rearranged his schedule & arrived within couple of hours. My unit is in a crawl space & difficult to access. He quickly got into a tyvek suit & got my heat back on & redirected my frozen condensation line. Dan patiently answered my barrage of questions with consideration & detail. Glad I found this small family owned local business that provides great service with reasonable cost.

Owner, Dan Goss placed a new air conditioner in our home this summer, 2012. He is professional and knowledgeable. When I learned that we had had our water heater installed incorrectly, and that there was a potential for a carbon monoxide leak, I immediately called Dan. He was at our home the same day. He explained what needed to be done and gave me an estimate. Within 2 days of my initial phone call my water heater was re-installed correctly, with no potential leak hazard. When I thanked Dan for responding so quickly he answered, "I would have made time for this " Your stars need to go up to at least 5 for Dekalb C.A.R.E. I would recommend Dan and his business to everyone who appreciates an honest and qualified professional.

Dan Goss, of Comfortman is my go to person for anything heating or air related. When my 26 year old HVAC went out suddenly, he came out to see what the issue was. When it was determined we needed a new unit, he gave a detailed and very reasonable quote for the replacement. I have such faith in Dan that I did not even need to get another quote. I'm not sure I have ever trusted a repairman to that extent. We promptly set up a date to replace the unit. He did a fantastic job and even did several other things for us that were not on the quote and even gave us several of the 5" filters to fit the unit. If you need an hvac guy, this is your man! He is the best and treats his work like he would want someone to work on his. We love the new unit and we love Comfortman!!!
