After waiting weeks for a competitor to return, I called Bowman. Within an hour they were at my house. Within an hour they fixed everything the competitors had messed up during installation. The guys were friendly and willing to show/explain what they were doing and why. They will be my first and only call going forward.

I had called several heating and air conditioner services to get a quote to pull and clean the evaporator coil on my Trane AC unit. Bowman was the only company that gave me pricing for the job to which I felt was reasonable. Their technician Doug, did a very thorough cleaning and ensured the unit was fully charged with freon and the system was operating properly. I was very pleased with his work and his not minding me watching him and asking questions. I will be using Bowman Heating & Air Conditioning in the future and I'm proud to rate their business 5 Stars.

We’ve been using Bowman for 5 years now. We have a Trane system that they didn’t install but have worked on many issues that we have had with it. It was going on 15 years old when we 1st called them. On one occasion there was a short in the system and the service Tech, Burl, worked on it for hours and finally found it. When he showed me where it was I was shocked that he was actually able to find it. They haven’t always been perfect and a few times had to come back out to redo something but they have always been fair. Recently after being away from Jax for 10 months we came home to a non-working system. Gavin came out and within 15 mins located the issue. We were at a place of thinking it may be best to get a new system but after a few weeks decided to just have it fixed. Gavin came back out and took care of it and now she’s working like a new one. When it is time to get a new system we will be calling Bowman but we will be doing a lot of research on what unit is the best choice for us.

Never will I use Bowman HVAC in Jax again! Will never have another Goodman Product either. Less than a year after they installed a new heat pump the compressor died. Then took 5 days to get a the parts. Try 5 days in Jacksonville Florida in September without A/C. I only had to 3 nights but my poor wife had to deal with all 5. Neither Bowman or Goodman stood behind there product for anything but the compressor. Not for the Freon? Not for the other parts needed to replace a compressor and not for the technician’s labor. Made the warranty a joke as I paid $735 less than a year after paying $2,500 to replace the heat pump they said needed replacing with the unit they recommended.

I would highly recommend Bowman Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone that is looking for a professional yet very affordable company to handle all of your heating and cooling needs. They have always been personable and will go out of there way to work around their busy schedule to accommodate the customers needs. I have had the pleasure of being a customer for many years and every experience has been awesome. The owner Mr. Drury, the administrative staff and the technicians are all top notch and the prices cant be beat.

I had a diagnostic check done, which cost me $105.00. This price which I feel was a little high compared to other advertised companies in the area was not disclosed to me by the customer service rep or by the technician. The invoice had no itemization or explanation of how the cost was determined, i.e. cost of labor or label of fee. The technician told me that I would need a replacement valve, at which point I asked him if he could discuss potential costs of repair and potential costs of other viable options of repair. At this point he was unable to provide any information, deferring me to wait for a call from his office. My concern was whether I spent 100 just to tell me that I knew already....that my AC was broken, or would it be applicable towards my initial desire of repairing my AC.
I contacted the office shortly after the technician left to inquire about the cost of repair. Bowman contacted once they were able to get information on the cost of the valve to be replaced. The cost was $825. The $100 I paid would be deducted and the final cost would be $725.
I asked the rep how the breakdown of the fees were.... essentially, how did they reach that price, (cost of the valve, hourly labor costs, etc.) Her reply was that they don't provide that information, the price is just given.
Now, I personally don't know what a valve would cost, however I don't believe that it's even half the cost of $800. Which makes me wonder whether a price was just pulled out of the air. What really bothers me is that the cost of new AC units start around 800 bucks!
I feel like I got overcharged for a simple diagnostic, or at least I feel Bowman failed to disclose their price. Moving towards repair I was given a price that's simply not justified even when asked. How is the repair of a "valve" on a unit $800 bucks when the unit probably cost that. I personally don't feel comfortable moving forward with this company. I'll probably contact Sears, so I know what I'm spending my money on.

I am very disappointed in this company. After looking at my AC unit on Saturday and determining the problem could not be fixed the same day, no problem. They would call me back next business day to give a quote. But the problem is the worker broke my outdoor faucet and did not tell me. I found out it was broken later that night. This person also put a black band over the water hose to stop the flow of water because it would not shut off! Why would the worker not tell me!! How can I trust a company that does this? As of today I have not heard back from them with a quote and dont want to. Money gone down the drain and more money to fix a faucet!
