Joe the Plumber, Heating and Cooling

The service was prompt, due to a cancellation we were able to get a same day visit. One of the techs was very friendly and helpful, the other only had a focus of an up sell. The bottom line is the prices here are astronomical, an $800 quote for a basic faucet and additional $500 for installation is laughable. They assumed that we had no idea about anything to do with the replacement, and told us this "golden faucet" would last 60 years. A person would be hard pressed to even find a kitchen faucet for that price. We were very busy at the time and just wanted the issue fixed, were willing to pay for the service but not to be bludgeoned like this. The faucet has been replaced for for $70, and took 15 minutes to do ourselves. Moral of the story: don't assume people are clueless, work hard, perfect your craft, and respect others.

We had a half bathroom installed. William was our technician. He was on time and very polite. He was very thoughtful of the placement of the piping that needed to be installed through our kitchen. He was able to make minor adjustments to ensure our needs were met. There was another tech that worked with William and I have forgotten his name but he was also very polite and helpful. They made a great team. We highly recommend Joe the plumber and we will use them again for all of our plumbing needs.

The pricing was unfairly high and I feel taken advantage of. I was unable to get an estimate without paying an 89 dollar fee. The pricing is not up to the technician as far as I understand but unclear. I am not sure what I paid for it was lumped together in one labor cost. The cost to install a boiler mixing valve, a very accessible three way soldered valve, was $686. This 2.5 times what Angie's list estimated and Angie's list referred me to this company. The technicians were great, polite and clean. The work was completed in two hours. The 89 dollar assessment took 3 minutes but I get it, gas is expensive. Lots of communication so that was good.

Would Not Recommend
I used Joe the plumber to snake out a toilet main line. They told me that there was an $89 service call fee which I agreed to. Note that the fee is NOT waived if they perform the work. There was a fee of $379 to remove and reset the toilet! The cost to snake the drain was $574 for a total cost of $1,042. Wow! I questioned the cost but was told that the plumber was there for five hours. Funny, I received a call from the plumber regarding the job at 11:03 AM and received the invoice at 1:28 PM.
Live and learn but here’s the kicker, the drain backed up four days later and I called them on a Saturday and spoke with a rather rude customer service person who told me that if I look at the invoice, there’s a note that the work was not guaranteed because there was a 90 degree angle in the line which I told them about when I initially called them. Note that I was never told that the work was not guaranteed until after I paid for the work and read the invoice. Joe the Plumber said they would be happy to come out for an $89 service call, $379 toilet removal and the cost of snaking the drain. In other words another $1,042.
I asked to speak with the owner, he told me he couldn’t do that now but he would have him call me on Sunday. I wound up having to call him on Monday to no avail.
What happened to doing the right thing?

Scammed the H*LL out of my boyfriend. Was there 1 hour to unclog a pipe and fix a leak in the basement and charged $900. Gave him so fake monthly deal discount to bring it down To $750. $750 for an hour of fixing a clogged pike and small leak? Cmon. You know what you did. Straight up scammers. Definitely avoid unless you’re going to drop $1000 on something that takes 2 seconds by some local guy. Messed up huge on this one!

On a Sunday evening our water pump and tank failed. There was no water in the house. We called, and Kyle arrived shortly after lunch on Monday afternoon and quickly checked the whole system for us. Kyle was able to get a new Jet Water Pump and Water Tank through a Manchester suppler, and installed both for us. This included all connecting pipes, shut off valves, and duplicate pressure gauges in the system. He then did a thorough check out of the working system, and stayed until after 6:00 PM to assure all was working properly. This was expensive compared to trying to get each item indivually, but the total system (parts and labor) were much appreciated. Kyle was knowlegable and friendly in working through the whole project.

The person answering the phone is unreasonable to deal with. I asked speak to a manager refuse to give me a manager. I asked him roughly what it would cost to add a floor drain for a building. I might write that I do not have access to after you said oh I can send a technician out there I asked him do. Would you like me to send a technician to a locked gate where he can’t get behind. I told him the square footage of the building and I said give me a quote on just say 10 feet of pipe in 300 feet of pipe, so I have an estimate on how much it could be on a loan and how much it could be on a high end and put me on hold for 10 minutes and says he’s not giving me one after I had to argue with them for that so if you want professionalism, don’t call this place for anything

Terrible, stay away at any cost! It would be $89 just to visit your house and $500 for simple drain cleaning, this is a fraud and all scam, I lost my $89 just to get a ridiculous quote! Never again, got same work done in $250 by very good professional, no dispatch fee it was just a bathroom clog! Stay away from this scam ! So $600 quoted together and I got it done by $250 and no dispatch fee. Terrible scam!

Jason was very professional and knowledgeable. He quickly fix my combination unit and got heat and hot water back to my tenants within the hour. The price was incredibly reasonable. Thank you
