Wonderful company. Very helpful customer service. Professional. Always have dealt with a live person on the other end. My husband and I moved into our house in the winter and had a low oil tank. Someone was out within 48 hours. Had an issue with our furnace and someone was out the same day. Would recommend to anyone.

Update- The bottom reply is a lie-Never called me back and sent me to collections for an early term fee of $400.
Worst oil company I have ever dealt with. Had a ceiling of $4.79
They said they were charging “market”
My market was $4.67 for three fills. I called around and was quoted $3.50
I called and they said their market was determined by them. Thieves!!!!!
They refused to match and keep sending me $399 cancellation fee. My next call is to the state. Do NOT use this company.
I was robbed on three full tanks!!

I had the same BAD experience as a previous reviewer. Grab a drink and some popcorn because this is a doozy

    - Called MULTIPLE companies for oil delivery and maintenance QUOTES

    - Spoke to Lori and gave her permission to run a credit check for eligibility. She agreed to send a contract with the oil pricing options and relevant information.
I informed her that I would review it with my husband and he would electronically sign and send it back IF he agreed to it and the fine print

    - My husband wasn’t interested in Hoffman so we signed with another company and all was good and well (aside from inflation and the war of course) Until...

    - One crisp and sunny Autumn day about a month later, I see a Hoffman brochure in my mailbox. I’m thinking, oh look, some more junk mail for me to recycle but it said “Thank you for letting us serve you”. Huh?

    - Alas, it was a bill for the unauthorized oil dumping they had sneakily done in my driveway the night before when no one was home. Enjoy trespassing much? Well thank goodness for surveillance cameras and signs

    - I provided my information to several companies for QUOTES and yet Hoffman was the ONLY one that decided to make an account for me without my knowledge or consent. UNETHICAL much?

    - When I called to get answers, Lori proceeded to BLAME me saying that “I made it SEEM like I was going to go with them”. She was extremely rude, spoke over me the entire time AND hung up on me. Is there a name for that kind of customer service? (Yes, there is. I just can’t it say it here)
Based on previous reviews, Lori’s accountability score is ZERO

    - After calling back to speak to a manager, I was made to listen to annoying hold music indefinitely so I showed up at the nearest office location only to be told there is no manager there but a supervisor will call me

    - Although my lovely Autumn day was already ruined by this FIASCO, a miracle on Main St. did occur. I got a call from a supervisor who admitted an ERROR was made (well that’s an understatement) and that “it happens” (apparently it only happens with Hoffman)

    - At least she admitted Hoffman was wrong and that she would fix the mistake. Then, in her next breath she also tried to BLAME me for the confusion I caused for providing my information to get the quote. Condescending much?

    - There is a colossal difference between requesting a quote and authorizing service. After emphasizing that there is NO justification for what they did, I requested a confirmation
e-mail and bid her farewell forever

    - The moral of the story is that this company has no morals. Contact them at your OWN risk if you dare. Better yet, avoid them at ALL costs (or you will receive unwanted low grade oil along with a bill) Surprise!

    - If you made it to the end, thanks for reading and be sure to check out the one star horror story another reviewer endured in the winter of 2020.

Over the years mostly good. I recently bought a water heater from them. Their subcontractor did not do such a good job cleaning up. Left dangling wires. Needed repeat Hoffman visits to set matters right.

Rich and Mike arrived promptly after giving me the 30 minute notification I requested. They were both professional, courteous and completed the work expeditiously. They answered all my questions and best of all they left the work area clean after replacing the connection from the furnace to chimney. Kudos to your professionals! Marcia

hey will purposely make big mistakes in their billing hoping to get more money. Even after we showed them the evidence i.e., canceled checks, they still refused to credit our account. They sent us to a bill collector. The bill collector was angry. However he agreed we paid our bills, and Hoffman was confused. The scam works like this. They make two or more accounts. One account will be for oil, the other for the service like getting a new AC. They will apply payments to the wrong account, making you late on your payment. In our case, one account had a huge overpayment, and the other account was delinquent by the exact amount of the "overpayment." Hoffman was a huge pain to work with. Every time I think about how they abused our time, I get upset; they are no better than any other oil company.

This is a horrible company. We called for a quote and to set up a contract with the office manager, the contract she emailed us was very different then what she explained on the phone. I wrote back to the email telling her the contract was wrong and it didn’t represent what she had said over the phone. She resent the same exact contract. We did NOT sign and we went with a BETTER local company. Today my husband went outside to one of their employees putting oil in our tank. My husband told the employee he needed to stop and we did NOT sign a contract with them. The employee told him we were still responsible to pay for the oil and to contact the office manager. We emailed the office manager immediately. It has been three hours and we have not gotten a response. We are NOT responsible for their mistake. This was a huge mistake on the companies behalf, the only time they are welcome on our property in the future is to come and siphon the oil out of our tank that they wrongfully put in. They will NOT be getting a dime from us.

When we bought our home I called many oil company’s for quotes, we spoke with Lori over the phone and we were going to go with your company and we were waiting for the contract to be emailed to us to sign. When we received the email it was completely different then what we were promised on the phone. We responded to the email asking her to fix the errors and resend it, she resent the same exact contract. We did NOT sign and we did not go with your company due to this issue. We hired another company. Fast forward to December 29, 2020, my husband and I were sitting on the couch and heard oil being pumped into our home. My husband immediately runs out and stops the man and says he’s at the wrong house we didn’t order oil or have a contract with your company. The man told us we’re still responsible even though it’s Lori’s error. He said it “wasn’t the first time this happened.” I immediately contacted Lori and she tried to make it sound like she was doing us a favor by sending us oil we never ordered and never had a contract for. I told her we will not pay and she needed to send someone to siphon it out. We ended the conversation that day by her saying she wishes us the best and she was sad that we felt victim to a scam, she was inferring she was going to do the right thing and zero out the bill, she did not. Today we get a bill for $380 dollars. Again I contacted Lori and said she needs to fix the invoice in the system or send someone out to siphon the oil. She extremely rudely responds that she is going to send us to collections and it was our choice if we want to be sent to collections or not. After posting about this horrible customer service mistake on public Facebook pages, I learned this is not the first time Lori has pulled this scam. I personally don’t know how she has a job. This is a global pandemic and she’s running around scamming families into paying for oil they didn’t order or have a contract for. She claims the contract is valid since we agreed over the phone, but what we agreed to over the phone was NOT what she included in the contract. So we did NOT sign the contract. I don’t know how she sleeps at night. We have all our emails as evidence and we contacted the BBB.

Spoke with an account executive named Linda who offered us a contract on Saturday. I told her we weren’t going to lock in then but called back an hour later when we changed our mind. She since has read my text message asking for a call and the office has let her know I wanted her to call back but she refuses to call me back. She even hung up on me this morning (Monday) when we tried to call. I was never rude or anything to her so I’m not sure what’s happening. Definitely not using/recommending them now.

Made an appointment a week ago to have a salesperson out to my home to quote the installation of four 100gal propane tanks. The receptionist emailed me a contract which authorizes them to pull a hard inquiry on my credit report and she insisted it was necessary in order to simply get a quote for installation. I refused to sign because that is absurd. The receptionist said she would see if something could be done and never got back to me. I waited home all day yesterday (a 4hr appointment window) and no one ever showed. I just called and the receptionist today and said she purposefully decided not to call me back. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME! There is a reason their reviews are so bad! DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING WITHOUT READING!
