If you’re getting ready to do some HVAC maintenance or haven’t had someone take a look at your system in a while, definitely think about calling Lunar Air Systems. We just moved into our place and we asked them to come inspect our furnace. Turns out, we had a huge hole in our heat exchanger! It was leaking carbon monoxide into our unit whenever we turned it on and another crack on the housing caused flames to flare out of the main chamber. Definitely a catastrophe waiting to happen. Lunar Air Systems has to be the best HVAC company I’ve worked with. James, the owner, runs a super tight ship. The work is high-quality, he’s honest about his pricing, and he’s super knowledgable. You can tell he’s passionate about his work.

James gave us detailed breakdowns on what he was doing, why he was doing it, and what needed to happen next. He made sure we were equipped with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about our HVAC system. He’s definitely the only person I would trust to do maintenance and inspection on my HVAC systems moving forward.

James repaired our AC unit over a two day period just in time, before the September heatwave. On the first day he replaced the AC disconnect which got the unit running to troubleshoot further. Then, he clearly provided options to further repair the unit, and on the following day, he replaced all the capacitors (two dual-run and one hard start), definite purpose contactor, and refilling the refrigerant. Throughout the entire repair process, James was professional, and provided us with details on the repair process and costs for each step including the pros / cons if we declined. We appreciate the excellent repair services he provided and wont hesitate to reach out in the future.

I highly recommend James for his thorough analysis of my HVAC system. He was a physics major at Cal Poly (SLO) and his analytical abilities really show as he reviewed my AC unit and furnace. That along with his years of field experience, he successfully diagnosed the problem with the AC unit and repaired the issue in the same day. When I spoke to a different company, they wanted to replace my entire AC unit. However, James saved me thousands of dollars and was able to repair the AC unit and it is working flawlessly. James helped us remove the wall heater in our hallway. He was prompt and professional, showed up on time and performed the job cleanly and efficiently. He also explained what he did and provided other advice for future maintenance, and left the job site clean so there was no need to clean or sweep up afterwards which was greatly appreciated. When I purchased my condo, the furnace had a crack in the heat exchanger. James did a great job installing a new furnace, thermostat and air scrubber. I have not had a problem with the unit since. I would definitely reach out again for future services.

I had a problem with an old furnace which suddenly turned on by itself and would not stop. The thermostat was in the off position so I had to shut it down manually. Few days latter I tried to put it back on but as soon as I lit the pilot light and put it in the ON position it started to work again even tough I disconnected the thermostat. I called few contractors and James from Lunar Air Systems was the first to respond in just a few minutes after I placed the call. When I described the problem at hand he suggested I also disconnect the thermostat wires at the furnace to eliminate any possible shorts of the wires. BINGO !! That was a brilliant advice !! I run a new wires to the thermostat, put everything back in place and furnace started to operate without any more problems. Problem solved over the phone !! Thank you very much !!!!
