Outstanding Service. Very old school and not common for this day and age. Rick our technician has amazing knowledge and is beyond honest. He explains in detail. With this we only had to repair our HVAC when other said we needed a new one. I will only use EL Payne.

The absolute best! I’ve dealt with numerous HVAC companies over the years and Payne surpassed all of them in terms of ... everything! Responsive.
Honest.
Reasonable.
I won’t use anyone else now and I will recommend them to everyone!

There is no question that E.L. Payne is the premier HVAC company in Los Angeles. From the invention of the gravity furnace to modern technology, family owned and operated (5th generation) they have proven time and again that they are on top of any problems that arise and are knowledgeable with all modern industry innovations. The service men are neat, polite, and prompt. They won't spend any more time than is needed and will not nickel and dime you to death. I wouldn't entertain using another company.

I’m a landlord and there is no one I trust more than Payne to respond to my tenants’ needs. The team is always knowledgeable, considerate and professional.

The office staff is quick to respond and organized and proactive with any required follow up. They aim to provide quality service and I find it shows in everything they do

Highly recommend E.L. Payne! Service person was punctual, courteous and well informed about all the options available to fix an AC issue in our 1920s home.

This is a message for the Owner of this company.
I see that you have been in business for a long time so I am sure you are a reputable person with reputable work ethics.
Having said that I believe there is some shady business going on with some of your employees and you might not be aware of it.
Your company just tried to rip me off.
Little background:
We will call 3 parties involved in this story with Option A, Option B and Option C (where E L Payne Company is Option C).
I noticed that my AC was not blowing cold air.
We are referred to this guy (Option A).
We called him, explained to him what is happening and he says that in his opinion a part needs to be changed. He quotes $800.00
I think it is excessive and look for Option B.
Option B actually comes to my place, goes on the rooftop, inspect the HVAC system and says that he can't refill the Puron because there is some sort of blockage. He said it will take him too much time to figure out and suggest we call Option C (E L Payne).
We call Option C and they agree to come look at our unit charging us $97 dollars for the first 30 mins.
This gentleman comes and knows personally Option B.
He does not attempt to add Puron (he does not even try) and he said that 2 pieces need to be replaced.
We ask for a quote.
He goes into the car, spends about 25 mins and comes back.
They are asking a WHOPPING $3304.49!
Please note that they did not itemize the cost of this job.
Parts plus labor $3304.49. He said 8 hours job, 2 men.
I pay $97.00 to this company and tell them I will have to think about it.

I feel I am getting ripped off so I call back Option A which agrees to come look at the unit.
He attempts to put Puron in and he finds no blockage of any sort, no need to replace anything.
Total cost paid $145.00 and My AC is cold and works as it should.

I think that there is some sort of collusion between Option B and Option C.
Option B comes, is nice and does not ask any $ for the service.
He refers me to Option C that quotes me a ridiculous number for work and parts that are not needed.

I am attaching pics of what was quoted from E L Payne and what I actually paid.

They can't screw me but I am afraid they will screw someone else.
Please beware.

My friend said, “This guy doesn’t sound like the brightest bulb on the tree.” Sure enough, $200 later and my a/c works just like it did before the “repair” - no cooling!

Have an older home and the Payne Company keeps that thing warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Staff has always been on time too.
