Just over a year ago I had my Air Conditioning replaced by my home warranty company. A few months later, after it started leaking, I found out it was not installed to code. I had a different company come out & give me an estimate & attempted to hire them after the money from the home warranty company was reimbursed to me. They failed to make an appointment for the repairs for several months. I finally found La Canada Air from a recommendation on my Nextdoor app. Joe came out immediately during this first heatwave and performed an inspection of my unit. He gave me 2 lists...what needed to be done and what was optional. I mentioned to him that I have breathing issues at home. He gave me the different options for my unit for cleaner air that I am considering for the future. Joe was very knowledgeable and had info printouts for everything, even regarding permits. I wish I had called Joe first. Joe looked at my old invoice from the Home Warranty company & pointed out that I had paid for a HERS inspection that never happened. He was very clear while explaining how my HVAC system works and went over what needed to be done for my unit to be deemed "to code" by the city inspector & HERS inspections that were not previously done. His quote was very reasonable and on the day of the repairs, the installation techs, Noe & Anthony arrived on time with masks on. They were very neat and professional while working on this significant job to repair someone else's mess & they replaced my 30+ year old ducts as well. I also had them replace my 30+ year old mercury thermostat with a new digital one and I was pleased that they offered a model that my elderly mom can finally use. On the same day, following the repairs, the unit & thermostat began turning off. I called La Canada Air & they immediately sent their tech, David, out. Within minutes, he realized that a piece from my blower was overheating & needed to be replaced ...by fixing this, it also repaired my heater issue that I have been having since March. It turns out that I will not need a new heater as I had previously thought. For the first time in 5 years, I finally have a properly running HVAC. I am very happy with La Canada Air and will definitely be using them for my HVAC service needs.

I called for a technician to come out and give me a bid for AC repair. Person on the phone was rude and not helpful at all. I know what's wrong ,I was trying to relate it to her. She wouldn't hear me..

I called this company and advised them that we had no heat, and that the heater was on the roof in a package unit. This company sent its senior technician to my home. After the tech arrived he proceeded to tell me that he did not want to go on the roof and that they really don't want these jobs. I said that with that attitude i did not want him to do the work.
He charged us $90 and left. They have done work for us before, but I will never hire them again. They have a can't do attitude.

La Cañada A/C was very helpful from the moment I called to the technician leaving my house. LC A/C is friendly, professional and fair prices. The technician also gave me some tips for maintaining my unit and ways to clean. Definitely recommend their services.

I am new to the Pasadena area and I had personalized service and advice for my air conditioning and furnace needs with my move. The owner of the company would contact me directly to see if I was happy with the installations. They walked me through the requirements for such a major install for a large heater and air conditioner. Susan at the service desk and scheduling always called to follow up and be of help and service. Thank you La Canada. I will always keep my service contract with La Canada Air . Melinda Emery

La Canada Air Conditioning sent a senior technician, Joe, who charged $90 for doing nothing. I had told them I had a sophisticated 5-stage unit that would need a consultation with Maytag Tech Support, but Joe did not call. He did say I had a “monster” complicated unit and that he would follow up with the local distributor for tech support, but never did. La Canada probably looks for easy jobs to sell brand new equipment and since my unit was under 2 years old and in warranty, they just made an excuse and walked away. Since I had agreed in advance to pay the $90 service charge I honored that, but buyers should beware this gypsy outfit. On the following day I had Ryan McGraw of McGraw Construction examine the unit and 24 hours later it worked perfectly, with 2 new circuit-boards under warranty. Shame on La Canada A/C.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! JOE POPLAR IS THE TECHICIAN AND THE OWNER. HE CAME OUT TO REPLACE MY ZONE CONTROL BOARD. HE SPENT DAYS AT MY HOUSE READING THE MANUEL. AFTER THAT I KEPT CALLING HIM FOR THE NEXT 8 MONTHS CALLING HIM BACK BECAUSE IT WASN’T WORKING. I HAD TO TAKE OFF TIME FROM WORK EACH TIME HE CAME OUT. HE MUST HAVE COME OUT AT LEAST 15 TIMES TO TRY TO GET IT GOING. HE WOULD BE ABLE TO GET IT GOING ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME BUT IT WOULDN’T SWITCH BACK AND FORTH FROM HEAT TO AIR OR JUST DIDN’T WORK AT ALL.

ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CONDENSOR WASN’T WORKING AFTER HE WAS JUST OUT THERE. HIS PRICE WAS $600.00 MORE THAN COSTCO AIR CONDITIONING COMPANY. AFTER COSTCO CHANGED MY COMPRESSOR HE WOULDN’T COME BACK OUT TO FIX MY ZONE CONTROL BOARD BECAUSE HE WAS MAD THAT I USED ANOTHER COMPANY. THEN HE KEPT TRYING TO BLAME COSCTO AIR THAT MY ZONE BOARD WASN’T WORKING WHEN THEY NEVER TOUCHED IT. TO FIND OUT LA CANDA AIRCONDITIONING SOLD ME A USED UNIT AND REFUSED TO WARRANTY MY ZONE CONTROL BOARD EVEN THOUGH LENNOX WHO MAKES THE UNIT SAID IT SHOULD BE STILL UNDER WARRANTY.

I CALLED FOR MONTHS EVERY OTHER DAY, LEFT MESSAGES AND HE WOULD REFUSE TO COME BACK AND FIX OR REPLACE THE ZONE BOARD. HE ALSO REFUSES TO RETURN MY CALL WHILE HIS OFFICE STAFF KEPT SAYING “I DON’T KNOW WHY HE WON’T RETURN YOUR CALL”. COSTCO AIR COMPANY EVEN TRIED TO CALL HIM AND TOLD HIM THEY WILL MEET HIM AT THE PROPERTY BUT HE REFUSED AND WOULDN’T RETURN THEIR CALL EITHER.

NOW I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE HASSEL OF REPORTING HIM TO THE STATE CONTRACTORS LICENSE BOARD. I WILL KEEP EVERYONE UPDATED ON MY PROGRESS.

I SPENT OVER $2,300.00 FOR THIS CONTROL BOARD NOT COUNTING WHAT I HAD TO SPEND ON THE COMPRESSOR AND TIME OFF FROM WORK. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT HEAT AND AIR FOR OVER A YEAR BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY A NEW ZONE CONTROL BOARD. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER NEW ZONE CONTROL BOARD BECAUSE IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE NEW AND UNDER WARRANTY

All things fail, entropy sucks, but once Joe explained that we needed help and they have the experience, I said do it!
Smart move, after a couple of days of hard work, the crew had the system rebuilt, and it now works as it should! All the old leaky energy wasting ductwork has been replaced and things are toasty again! Best part is the gas bill will be going down big time!
