We moved to HSV in 2008 - Johnston's was recommended and we wouldn't use anyone else. Either Steve or his son, Jonathon, have responded to every service we've requested with prompt, efficient, courteous attention to our needs. Great, honest, and excellent service. Steve is very good at what he does and you can depend on him to do the right repair. For the individual who mention a $79 service charge? Well everyone charges that service charge that the nature of the AC business??? We have had Johnston for many years and had a few emergency calls at night and they were very responsive. I have a Service Contract which I recommend because he found a few warranty issues that were caught before expiration. Also, with the the service contract you get filters, cleaning of outside unit, and inspection of inside unit. I am very satisfied with the service and highly recommend this AC Service company.
Called for A/C repair, never mentioned $79 service charge. Spent less than 30 minutes cutting pipe to unclog and reconnecting. Bill was $209. That works out to $400 per hour. He got me once and lost a customer. Save yourself from this shady experience and call someone else.
Absolutely the best experience I have ever had with a heating and air company! I had no air and they quickly fixed my problem! Quick turn around very knowledgeable and nicest guys to talk to. Heck he even let me give him a high five!
Our heat pump was making grinding noises when starting up and when shutting down. Even though it was getting late in the afternoon on New Year's Eve the owner came out within 45 minutes and found the problem...ice had built up inside the unit. He broke the ice loose and told us how to handle this sort of thing in the future. Yay! Didn't cost us an arm and a leg either.
When I questioned the tech (owner) of the necessity of the repair, he became offended and told me to get another opinion, picked up his tools and left me with a broken unit. Maybe time for him to retire.
