Ambient Air Heating & Cooling

Ambient was assigned as my HVAC contractor by American Home Shield (AHS). Like so many others, I had a terrible experience with them. My HVAC stopped working, and when the technician came out to diagnose the problem, he supplied us with erroneous information on what our out-of-pocket costs would be, how a new system would have to be installed (by crane, apparently) etc. In any case, AHS ordered a refurbished compressor to replace the one that died, and it was delivered THE NEXT DAY. I was even provided the tracking number and FedEx proof of delivery by AHS. Ambient claimed to have to record of any such delivery and had no idea who could have possibly signed for it. The woman at the front desk whom I spoke to multiple times over the course of trying to sort out this mess was rude, inflexible and distinctly unhelpful. I lost track on how many times I reached out back and forth to AHS and FedEx as well to start a lost delivery claim because Ambient insisted that they did not have the compressor. In the meantime, we were in the middle a record heatwave in Tucson in June. Out of the blue I receive a call from Ambient that the compressor could be installed. A week later. They never admitted that they had indeed received it on the original FedEx delivery date nor did they claim any culpability. A word to the wise: if AHS assigns Ambient Heating & Cooling as your HVAC contractor, INSIST on a different company. For the sake of your mental health, you’ll be glad you did.

Cannot say enough about my positive experience with Ambient.
FIrst no high pressure or confusing sales pitch. Steve who came out to the house to assess and recommend appropriate system is super knowledgeable and gave great advice on HVAC and steered me to a filter system that is not expensive and the best. Their prices were better than any of the six other estimates I got AND they use Synchrony bank which offers 24 mth no interest loan. Mike the GM is always available by phone, Omar and RIchard who installed both HVAC and a water heater work cleanly are personable and really take pride in their work. Very happy customer!

AHS sent ambient the next day after my AC went out and Steve is the man he got my AC up and running less then 30min great service.

Professional, friendly, prompt, thorough, and took added precautions to keep my house clean. Everyone was excellent, great service and we appreciate your quick response. I was very pleased with the entire service and would recommend Ambient Air to anyone!!!

The technician was very rude. He didn’t greet me or speak or explain anything to me the whole time that he was at the house. When I asked him what the issue was he told me that it’s on the invoice. At the very least I expected an explanation on what happened and how to prevent it from happening again. He didn’t even stick around to make sure the unit would actually cool. Horrible customer service. Would never recommend this company.

American Home Shield sent Ambient Air Heating and Cooling out to troubleshoot our AC while I was out of town. They found a loose connection on the board that the previous owner had "fixed" by wedging a piece of wood against it. Their technician just wedged it back into place and called it "fixed" again. Obviously it did not really fix the issue and had to have them come out again on July 5th for the same issue. We paid American Home Shield $100 to send them out and do nothing the first time in May, and another $100 to come fix the same issue in July. This time he did claim to put the part on order although we have not heard anything from them since July 5th. Also, yes, the Home Warranty is in my wife's name and I will get with American Home Shield to inquire about whether you charged them for the first call, because they definitely charged us for it.
