Unreasonable charges.
The compressor was icing over so they fixed that with adding 2 pounds of Freon which was $212 and fine. Then they replaced the overflow switch in the pan under the condenser unit in the attic and charged $309 for replacing that switch. The switches are easy to replace and cost about $20. Actually I’m not totally sure the switch was even needed. The compressor was running when we called for service and the purpose of the switch is to stop the compressor from running when there’s water in the pan under the unit in the attic.
They were called in on Sunday afternoon and charged $100 for a service call which was fine. These switches are generic for any air condition and are easily replaced.
Their defense was they went there on Sunday evening and “who would go there on Sunday evening“. Therefore the charge “is reasonable”.
You judge if that’s reasonable I think not. It took me a long time for them to even get back to me to respond why it was so expensive.
I basically don’t have a problem with their service and even replacing the switch which I have doubts over. It was the unreasonable charge and taking several weeks for them to explain why the switch needed to be replaced in the first place and the amount of the charge. I will not use them again and I encourage you not to either. I’m not sure how honest they are.

My property manager use Sun Coast to maintain HVAC systems in my five rental properties. in one property they did maintenance four times in less than 8 months and charged me $1,700. They replaced the defrost boards in two different houses in the same day and one technician charged almost double the price of the other tech. the fee for flushing the drain is random depending on the tech I think, one time $160 and one time $260. They are over charging for their service with poor quality that they have to come four times in one house in less than 8 months and flushed the drain twice in one house in less than two months. I requested from my property manager to hire another company.

I cannot express the gratitude and gratefulness that I have had and still have after 3 years since we purchased our unit along with our regular M/A 2xs a year from Sun Coast Energy. The employees are an asset to their organization and I am so totally thankful to the owners for also participating and employing such an awesome staff. We have been at a loss a time or two lately with my husband being so ill and they have, without a second thought, been here for us asap when we needed it the most. I would recommend and do refer Sun Coast Energy to anyone in the market for a new or maintaining an existing unit. You couldn't go wrong, I guarantee it! Thanks again Sun Coast Energy!

Sun Coast Energy installed all new airducts in my very very cramped attic. They knocked it out faster than expected, and everything looks great. I went into my very small attic myself and it really looks like they did a high quality job. It always fantastic to see that kind of workmanship, especially in a very tough environment. KYLE! This service tech. represents exactly what a quality and dedicated employee is. He show up when he said he would, gave exact pricing and even though it was an emergency call he was happy to be there and very personable. He repaired my a/c with ease and I felt great after he left that it would work fine and we as a family, could sleep comfortably. He offered me a service plan and I joined immediately. (It was a no brainer). If this is the kind of employees this company hires I'm glad to have them maintain my a/c system from here on out. I own a new company and I could only hope that a "kyle" works for me someday.

We had an A+ experience with Sun Coast Energy. We had a few issues that needed to be assessed, and the owners spoke to me personally on two different occasions. They made some recommendations, but said they'd feel more comfortable coming out to look at things first. They were quick to come out and diagnose the issues. Their service tech was extremely polite, wore booties over his shoes, gloves, and a mask which made me feel even better during this quarantine mess! I would highly recommend Sun Coast!
