I recently had a problem with what appeared to be a locked thermostat so I called these folks. I was told they could have someone out the next day which was Friday. The tech (I won't use names which you'll understand why later) came out, poked around a bit then informed me the thermostat needed to be replaced. Having no heat and recovering from major lung surgery and a wife recovering from a stroke, I obviously had little choice. He installed the cheapest one you can get (Honeywell pro 3000) which you can purchase at Walmart for $46.00) and charged me $125.00. The one he removed has unfortunately disappeared as it's now clear it wasn't a thermostat problem after all and the old one could have been put back in. However, when he left my home he had manually started the heating unit and it was on at that time. Unfortunately, that's the one and only time it came on the rest of the day. When I noticed it was not coming on I again called them and explained what was going on. I was told I would be responsible for an AFTER HOURS SERVICE CALL for them to come back out and fix the real problem they missed the first time. When they came out the 2nd time it was discovered the blower motor had gone belly up but was under warranty and they didn't have one in stock so it would be the following Tuesday before they could get one. At that point we had no alternative but to wait with no heat for the next four days until the part came in. Tuesday morning I received a call informing me the motor came in and they would be out shortly to install it. He arrived, installed the motor, fired up the unit and it appears to be ok. When I was presented with another bill of $185.00 minus a token veterans discount I informed him I wanted to speak with his supervisor regarding the entire bill. Apparently that didn't sit very well as he got on the phone with someone but didn't allow me to speak with any one and then stepped outside to speak privately with whomever. The next thing I knew he had left. The following morning at 7:10am (how courteous) I received a call from the owner asking what had happened. I have no idea why he asked me as it was clear he had no intention of hearing what I had to say and got very defensive when I asked him why I was charged $185.00 for a $46.00 part and another $185.00 to install the motor which was under warranty. If my math is correct the sum total is $370.00 for a part under warranty and a thermostat I probably never needed in the first place but I'll never know as it was taken by them. He ended the one way conversation asking that I call someone else in the future and to that he can rest assured that I will oblige him and keep spreading the word! Oh well all I can say is; BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE..

Melissa took great care of us with scheduling and costing and Chris took great care of us with an inspection and replacement of a component. Both were super professional and had the customer’s needs and well being first in their focus. Definitely recommend to anyone who needs service!

I would like to commend the excellent teamwork and outstanding results achieved by the Southern Comfort folks in their recent replacement of our HVAC unit and ductwork. Southern Comfort technicians had periodically checked and serviced our existing unit for many years so when the time came to replace the old unit, we naturally turned to them first. The friendly and knowledgeable front office staff quickly put us in touch with sales and operations leader David Baker. We threw David some curve balls, including our preference to change from an all-electric unit to a gaspak, move the replacement unit to a new location (which meant opening up a block wall for the new unit and sealing the old opening), and remove/replace the 25+ year old ductwork in a crowded crawlspace. David listened carefully to understand our preferences, made some useful suggestions for us to consider regarding return air ducting and overall installation, and assured us that the Southern Comfort team could handle all our requests. The installation team, led by Kenny, arrived early on the day of our project, walked with us around the site to confirm the work, and got started promptly with the removal of the old ductwork and the installation of the new (without damaging any pipes or wires running under the floor I might add). Our low, crowded crawlspace slowed the team down a bit but by late afternoon, we received instructions on how to program the thermostat and the new unit began cooling our house quietly and efficiently. So our thanks to David Baker, Stacy, Kenny, Chris, Reno, Tyler, Stephanie, the warehouse guys, and all the fine folks at Southern Comfort – it’s a pleasure doing business with you.

We had them out at the end of last summer due to problems with ac cooling. The technicians (2) came out and said it was leaking coolant (pinholes everywhere) and needed new coils. After finding the proper coils they came back and replaced it and the drain pan. A couple days later my wife saw water in the floor. The drain tube was crimped off causing water to go everywhere since it couldn't drain. They came back out and replaced the drain tube never admitting they had crimped and ruined the original. The tech leaves and later water was noticed again by my wife. I looked under the floor to see if it was draining and there wasn't a tube showing. So, I contact them again and speak to David (the owner) who acted nonchalant and didn't understand why I would be frustrated, I guess if it was his house it'd be a bigger issue for him. He sent out his "best tech" and the guy noticed that the tube had been run and had curled around on itself never making out. After never admitting they had done anything wrong the technician ran the drain tube thru to the floor and sealed it. The inference by this tech was the other techs were young and inexperienced. This year we're seeing water again and contacted southern comfort. I explained to the receptionist that the work seemed shoddy since they had been out so many times and still had not completed the job properly. The receptionist connected me with the office manager who was upset that I should refer to their work as "shoddy". Never being able to handle the problem since she was so hung up on the word shoddy. This was the first time they seemed upset, remember they seemed genuinely surprised I was frustrated with them last year after having to have them out so many times. She was sarcastic and less than professional in my opinion, all because I used the term shoddy remember. Instead of de-escalating the situation she seemed interested in picking more of a conflict. Finally after more sarcasm from her, I told her I just needed my hvac fixed and not the verbal confrontation. She said she'd have David contact me at the next available time (the next week). I got off the phone and contacted a friend of mine who recommended his service tech. I called and he said he was about to finish for the day but would be happy to stop by. I called southern comfort back and informed them not to bother as I didn't trust their abilities and didn't want them back in my house. My friends tech came over and the drain hose was found to be crimped and had become clogged due to the lack of proper flow. I will never use this company or allow them near my hvac.

We were told by another local company that it would cost $1700 to fix our AC unit! My brother in law recommended Southern Comfort instead. We just had a small problem that was fixed for $100! So glad we found these guys. I would definitely recommend calling them if you have any AC problems.

I don't typically leave reviews but I called to schedule an appointment to have someone come out and look at my compressor and give me a quote on possibly replacing the entire unit, because it is over 20 years old. They called me back and told me they were too busy....I'm sure someone else will be more than happy to take my money.

From the first phone call to requesting a quote thru the install of a new unit Southern Comfort was top notch. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has new construction or repair/replacing an existing unit.

From beginning to end, Southern Comfort HVAC LLC was professional, timely, and responsive to my questions. They were not the lowest bid, however they were the best bid, all things considered.
