Early May 90 degree weather put our A/C to the test and our A/C received an F! Our home warranty company thankfully sent out Muchow & South Central as the authorized repair contractor. Could not appreciate them more! Had two options based on the home warranty policy: 1) Replace the unit and absorb about a $3000 bill after the home warranty company paid their portion or 2) Pay $79 and have it serviced/inspected. Financially it would be a no brainer to spend $2900+ less, but the unit is pushing 20 years old. Matthew, the tech, was straight with me and said that even with the age of the unit, it has plenty of life left in it. Could probably easily convinced me it was on its last leg and should be replaced given its age, but he didn’t! He felt servicing it would work and it would get us plenty more years! Great service, good people, and saved me a ton of money! That’s very appreciated!

We had central air conditioning installed in our 112+ year old home that has an existing boiler system. The team did an exceptional job doing the installation and made it fit in like it was always here. The price was reasonable and the system works better then expected. Did our heating and air, turned out great and cheaper than the other local estimates

I bought a 45-year-old house that only had electric baseboard heat and a window unit for cooling. I called Muchow & South Central Heating and Cooling for a quote to supply and install a high-efficiency mini-split heat pump system. Jon came out in a timely fashion and we discussed lots of options. I had my proposal within a day. It was not the only quote that I sought but the response, price, and install date were exceptional.
Paul and Steve arrived on time with almost everything needed for a complete install. Some line cover fittings were here soon after. It was hot the day the system was installed but the complete system consisting of 2 outdoor units and 4 indoor units was completed in a very timely manner. We did have one minor issue after the unit ran for a day but within 2 hours, after a phone call, Matt was here, found the problem and it was repaired.
I am now “chilling” in a nice cool house with a high-efficiency cooling system that does an incredible cooling job and is super quiet.
I am a very happy customer and would recommend Muchow & South Central Heating and Cooling for all my cooling needs. They are punctual, courteous, and professional.

They came next day to look at my furnace but refused to order a part to fix it just wanted to replace it for 4000.00. And worker was rude about it. Thank you Muchow and South Central heating for the follow up call and taking the time to correct the actions. I appreciate your time.

We knew we needed a new AC unit at our condo, and a few neighbors were going with Muchow. Matt arrived early, and looked at the old AC unit and how it would interface with existing furnace. He discovered that the furnace was the original unit (1988), and we had spent over $500.00 in the last two years replacing aging parts. We discussed the pros and cons of replacing it, and he agreed to give us two quotes (one with just the AC, and one with both AC and furnace). We also discussed a new thermostat, and decided on the WiFi version. Muchow offers free financing for a year. Matt also offered us a group discount, and another discount for the work Muchow had performed this past year. They installed everything a week later, and Matt even stopped in to help us sync our phones with the new thermostat. We think this company is expanding because they are honest, fairly priced, offer 24 hour service if needed, are efficient, and clean up after themselves. They appear to take pride in their work, and stay in communication.

It can be a difficult decision when hiring a contractor, and Muchow puts your mind at ease. We highly recommend Muchow for any heating or cooling needs, and the professional manner in which they operate.

We had someone come out last fall to look over a relatively new furnace and provide suggestions on moving/removing a cold air return due to taking out some walls. The service man provided some helpful adjustments to the furnace but also came up with a creative and cost effective solution for the cold air return-a solution that two other contractors did not provide. For a very reasonable price, the old return was sealed and a new return put in, and the furnace was serviced. I appreciate this company's service and would highly recommend them to anyone.

A friend recommended this place when our furnace went out. Within 24 hours we had a technician, a salesman, and a new furnace in our house. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient. We filled out the paperwork in our house and everything was set to go instantly. Not that I want to buy a new furnace soon, but I'd have these guys back anytime! 😁

I purchased my Reedsburg home in 1999. Muchow serviced my existing furnace at that time each year, charging me a fair price for a working furnace each season. When the time came for a new furnace and central air in 2009, guess who I called? Again, I do my part by having them come each year and service my HVAC equipment. They arrive on time, are polite, personable and seem to have done a good job as, to date, everything is still working well. Definitely recommend.

Just wanted to let you folks know how appreciative we are that you were able re-arrange your install schedule to fit us in!
As you already know, we experienced an electrical fire inside our old furnace which happened unexpectedly the other day at 3 am in the morning. My wife smelled the smoke and woke me up to have me find where it was coming from. When I saw a bunch of wires burning inside our furnace, I immediately flipped the breaker off. Thank you, Jesus, for waking us up to catch it before something very bad happened!
Knowing the urgency for us, since we had no heat, you gave us an estimate very quickly. I also had a chance to meet Pam and T.J. They were so nice when I went over to your Reedsburg office. They went out of their way to be so patient with all my questions and helped educated me on all the options, which gave me a better understanding of what each does. This helped me decided on the right model, with the right features for our home.
Finally, I would like to say a big Thank You to Matt, their Service Manager, who heard what happened to us. He went over and above to access our damage and give us a quote rather quickly. Then once I gave him the green light to go ahead, he moved even quicker with schedules and people to ensure we had heat in our house by the end of the next day.
