Junior, the owner, came HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by a well known owner of an electrical company in Kenosha. I started by going thru Costco which was a disappointment to say the very least. The HVAC company that Costco uses attempted to sell another carrier that was not part of Costco's agreement with their vendor. So I took the gamble and interviewed Junior. As soon as he said DAIKIN, he was in! A close realtor friend in Scottsdale AZ did extensive research on mini-splits and told me IF you could find a dealer who carries Daikin (super quiet system), choose them! My job was done within a few days of meeting Junior. A 2 day install with perfect detailing, professional, on time, etc., etc. And their price was so reasonable. Am I HAPPY!, you betcha.
Long story short, our furnace stopped working on 1/30, the day it got down to -25. We immediately called our home warranty company (HSA) and were told that it would take at least 24-48 hours to send someone out. We couldn’t go without heat so we just called another local contractor, who basically said our furnace is probably on its way out. Didn’t really diagnose or look into anything more than that. He took off the intake pipe and the filter to try and remove any restrictions and this got it limping along.
The following morning, our home warranty company had contacted us that they had gotten in touch with J&E Heating and Cooling to come and check things out. We had made an appointment with Juan for Monday 2/4 to come out and actually take our furnace apart and see what was going on. The quick fix from the first contractor eventually failed and our furnace stopped working on Saturday 2/2. We had been in touch with Juan for a couple days now giving him details about our current furnace and whatnot so if it needed to actually be replaced he could order one right away through our warranty company since that would take 3-5 business days to arrive to his shop. We were also weighing the options of buying a nicer furnace or going with the replacement one from HSA.
Juan ended up personally coming over that Saturday afternoon to check out our furnace, for which we were extremely grateful. He swapped out the pressure switch which got it running again, but then he decided to scope the furnace right away (we already had the service appt set up for Monday anyway) and confirmed that our heat exchanger was basically shot. It wasn’t cracked yet, which meant we could run it still, but it was so warped and bubbled that it could basically fail at any time. It was a 27 year old Rheem Imperial Drum so it definitely had some use on it.
We ended up getting our new Goodman 92% efficient furnace installed by Luis and Marty on 2/11 and they did an amazing job! Extremely friendly and knowledge guys, not to mention, they had the old furnace out and new one in very quickly. Installation looks great and no issues whatsoever! Our new furnace is so quiet, efficient, and does an amazing job at heating our home evenly. Quite an upgrade from our old one for sure. J&E Heating and Cooling has been amazing to us!
Also, in regards to home warranty companies: yes, they will literally supply a replacement furnace for you, but if you don’t have an upper level plan, then you are required to pay for all the installation costs/modifications needed. In our case, this cost was 1200.
Wonderful customer service and quality work! Dan and Matt came out to replace my furnace and were very professional, curtious and friendly. They removed the old furnace, put in the new one and removed all the trash. They also walked me through how to use my new thermostat. I would recommend them to anyone experiencing heating issues.
Responded promptly, I had already diagnosed a bad HSI and requested a replacement, was notified the service call would be 75$. Tech came and replaced the HSI approx 15 minutes charged 19 for parts and 95 for labor/ I was unhappy that I was not explained beforehand the rates, and that the service call would not be calculated in labor. Total bill 202$ for a 20 dollar part I had already diagnosed and took under 15 minutes to replace
Update--- from 3 to 5 stars Received a call about my issues and was promptly remedied on all counts. Outstanding follow up support ---Recommend!
Would have to change review was called and pretty much asked to change review. Had a lot of excuses but never took responsibility. After being badger for 10 min had to pretty much say good bye. Which prompt me to change to one star. They did install a new furnance pretty good job but they really left a mess on the carpet and floor. Also had to call them back because fan would not turn off. Told 2 day and still had to call on second day asking if they were coming back.
This company was picked through our home warranty company and we were so happy with the service. We had a man named Juan come and service our AC and he was fast and made sure he explained everything he was doing. We called that day and they sent someone out that night. Best company my husband and I have had to do business with in a long time. The woman who picked up the phone was super friendly and very informative.
Writing reviews is not my online hobby, but I see other negative reviews trying to balance and correct the narrative about this company and I need to explain my terrible experience also. I came into contact with J&E through Home Warranty of America to replace a furnace. The original gentleman who came to diagnose the problem was friendly and explained how the furnace died. When J&E came to install the furnace they demanded payment of $1050 upfront for non-covered charges (including rerouting a gas line 1 foot, and a 2 foot tall plenum install). Upfront meant they were going to hold me and my house hostage in 20 degree weather while they said they were not allowed to show me an itemized breakdown of the charges and that HWA, who they already submitted the charges to would need to supply that. Of course, when I contacted HWA, they recited the exact opposite. With no other options I paid and let them in the house to install the furnace. The real trouble began later, since I am not an HVAC professional I could not diagnose the issues I would learn later I was left with. Once it was time to use the AC, the system started short cycling (J&E did not properly configure thermostat or install correct wires to support our Nest), also a loud banging sound would reverberate across the house (J&E did not crease and strengthen the sheet metal for pressure changes), there was significant air leaks from basic folding and screwing the metal (J&E does not use Pittsburg joints or seal gaps). When I called to discuss the concerns with Juan, he first was angry that another contractor (who diagnosed my short cycling) saw a concern and that he was trying to badmouth him and make J&E lose business. Then Juan said it was too long ago (January to June) and I asked him if they warranty any of their work since the install was done poorly and I wanted to give him another chance. We set up a meeting later that week and Juan no-called and no-showed and hasn't contacted me back since. I'm out money from the midwinter stick up and also need to replace the shoddy work with a new contractor. I would not recommend them for any service.
Very happy with the quick response from J&E heating and great service from tech Matt who found the problem quickly and fixed m y furnace and installed a new thermostat. Will definitely use their services in the future!
Best company my grandmother has ever done business with. They were so kind to her and even taught her how to use her thermostat. J & E is quick, efficient, and down to earth individuals. If i ever need a heating & cooling job done they will be my go to, and i highly recommend them.
I was freezing when I couldn't get the heat to come on, but Matt came out almost an hour earlier than I had been told to expect him, checked the thermostat (toast) and the furnace (broken wire and blown fuse). Even with many trips up and down stairs to trouble shoot the problems as they arose, he maintained a cheerful and professional attitude and made recommendations that were very valuable to me. I am very grateful! Thank you!
