I was able to spend some time with Chris and ride along with him for the last week to see what HVAC was all about. It’s was a new experience and I had a great time watching him fix and interacting with a large amount of customers. What a great job your doing.
Yesterday while I was visiting my folks,National Heating showed up, and Chris started to explain what they where going to do before any work had started, wich I was impressed with. I recommend National Heating to anyone that's looking for reliable, respectful, knowledgeable, and fair priced. That being said 5 STARS ALL THE WAY
Chris Dike should win a prize for the worst contractor in Washington. He was hired to clean our ducts and he ended up causing our blower motor to burn - literally caught on fire. It appears that he was trying to clean it in-place while it was running so dust and debris must have got into the fans/coils and caught on fire due to the temperature. Needless to say, he blamed it on the "age" of the furnace and that it was probably going to go out anyways. He charged an additional $500 to replace the blower motor and that he would come back the next day to do it. It took a week and a half of daily text and calls (which he avoided days at a time). He ultimately did not even want to replace the blower and instead wanted to change the entire furnace. After a lot of discussion, we agreed to do it. After the installation, the replacement furnace had such a stronger blower motor (50% stronger than the previous one) that it was causing an EXCESSIVE loud noise in the return vents inside the house. He said he would come back the next day to fix it. Knowing my experience with him, I withheld $100 from the final payment until he addressed the issue. Just like I expected, he did not come back and then texted to and refused to address the issue unless we paid him an extra 250 for 2 hours of labour. To add insult to injury, this guy threatens bodily and property harm (over text!!!!) and swears at you saying withholding the $100 is theft.
Unless you enjoy dealing with situations like the above, avoid this company like the plague.
See the attached video for how this contractor left the vent sound and thinking is an "acceptable" job
