Had one of their sales reps come out on a Thursday. Went over the whole project from start to finish. When the sales tech left he made the comment of give me a couple days this is a big project so earlier would me Wednesday the following week. I thought this was weird as this was the 4th company I have had out and all the rest had a quote within 24 hours. But I wanted to give them a shot.

Wednesday comes and goes, then Thursday, then today Friday. A week after the sales tech comes out I still have no estimate.

Easiest part of the job, and the company can’t even do that.

Why would I actually go with this company if they can’t even give out quotes. $41,000 job out the window. For this company. Total Energy must not need residential customers.

Thanks for nothing!

We have been customers of Total Energy for 10 years now. The service men are always very professional and kind. They show up on time and are very thorough.

I recently had Juan Hurtado come to my house for a service call. He was on time and professional. I had some concerns that he addressed beyond a normal service call to my satisfaction. He answered all the questions that I had, which were many. Great job Juan !!

Our service guy, Noah, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to be sure we had heat in our house, even after his long day of house calls. I highly recommend Noah to anyone with HVAC issues

Retrofit crew did a pretty decent job. A bit of a challenge retro due to how the old system was installed. At the onset of the job, John mentioned that it was likely we could keep the old indoor unit for use in the shop or another non- critical application. I was going along that premise and in the end they had to demo it making it unusable. Not a huge deal, but communication of the situation would have been good.

They had to trim the sheet metal ducting on the supply side to shorten it so the new unit would fit. They did not vacuum out the trimmings, slag, etc and after it was making some strange sounds after they left, I had to remove the filter and squeeze through the filter box to vacuum the trimmed pieces. Again, not a huge deal, but much easier to do when the duct was wide open.

After they left, we see a relatively large grease spot on our three week old carpet. Not sure if it was from the old unit, shoes, etc…

Lastly, the start up appeared to be super rushed and not thoroughly commissioned. We noticed the high pressure line in the house was icing up and thawing, creating a wet spot on the carpet after they left. Installers also said that thermostat was not capable of showing two stages, as the compressor is a two stage unit, stat would only show if it was off or on.

I requested a service call as the system would never go into heating mode, but was always in Aux heating. That coupled with the high pressure line icing up was not right. Shaun, the service Tech that came out appeared to know his stuff and resolved the issues. After the original installation, the stat was not changed to operate the slide valve in the correct position for heating, and was instead cooling. The heat pump was receiving a cool signal causing the aux heat to run continuously to achieve temp, basically fighting each other. Once the stat was changed to the correct setting, all has settled down and is working well. In order to get the heat pump to operate with both stages, the second stage had to be enabled in the stat to tell the unit to run stage 2 when needed. Now when I check the equipment status, it tells me the status of stage 1, stage 2, and aux heating. Something I was told the stat was not capable of. 🤔 Maybe more education for the retro team, or slow down and do the correct job thoroughly and correctly to begin with.

I understand things happen, installations turn challenging, etc… but the retro team needs to be sure and thoroughly check the system upon start up and commissioning. Is there a chance something else was missed? Seems that the settings issue would have raised its head when checking the pressures of the system during commissioning. Was that completed? With the way the system was left after the installation, it leaves several questions that could be asked as to system operation, optimization, efficiency, life expectancy, etc….

My out door unit was not working correctly and over the phone pretty much had it diagnosed. When he got there he quickly confirmed what was wrong and had it fixed but looked into other issues but all else was in order. Pricing was upfront and seems ver reasonable.

The technician was highly professional and very polite. He also tolerated my barking dogs very nicely.

Thankful for my service contract. Every time they have been to the house, they are friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. This last time they caught an issue that could have turned disastrous. Fixed it and gave me piece of mind.

These guys are always on time listen to our needs. They put in a ductless furnace through large block brick with out a hitch. Then, to my surprise, came back and checked on us to make sure everything was working great. They maintain our units perfectly and professionally. Thank you!
