My home warranty had them come out and look at my system when it stopped working. That was around June or July. I called the Home warranty company in October to figure out why the technician had not returned yet. They contacted Almost Froze hvac and told me that the tech would be contacting me. I never heard from them. It is December now and I still have not heard anything and they have not come back and finished the repair. Now since my claim is so old, I have to start a new claim. Anyone doing business with this company needs to file a complaint with the better business bureau, DPOR, and consumer affairs. I will be doing that today. I just tried to call them to tell them they owe me the $85 I paid for them to come out. They didn't answer. If I am unable to get ahold of them today, I will be filing complaints. What this guy is doing is not just unprofessional, it is illegal. He is accepting payment from customers with no intention of completing the work. His entire income is probably just the fees he gets paid for accepting the warranty calls and he probably never actually fixes anything. **I forgot to add that the warranty company sent me emails almost daily for months that said the parts were ordered, and said the tech would call me when they were picked up or delivered. When I called and talked to the warranty company about him not coming back, they said the parts were ordered and delivered/picked up already. So this guy is getting parts delivered to him that are paid for by the warranty company but he's not installing them. What is he doing with all these parts he is getting?

Exact same thing happened to my daughter. Without ac for a month, come to find out she was without ac because of the incompetence of this company (Randy). He blamed the warranty company for not receiving the part (new ac unit), when infact it was delivered shortly after the warranty company approved repairs. He refused to set up an appointment to fix. He told her repeatedly that the home warranty fills up his schedule with appointments, he had 8 just that day! The warranty company said that wasn't true, the company picks assignments.
When she requested a new technician for repairs. He claimed harassment. He had the nerve, twice, to pick up her claim again through the warranty web page... The warranty company confirmed he could see the name and address of people to fill his schedule with. And he had the option of how many clients he could handle.
I think someone needs to look at how many inspections a company is allowed to take a day with repairs actually being completed in a timely manner. Save your 85 inspection fee with this company! Use it for the company who will make the repairs!
New company was great! Inspection, new ac unit completed in under 3 days!

I have so much to say about Randal Backman, like go grab your popcorn and get comfy because this is going to take a while. But this “man” has wasted so much of my time already that I am not going to get into all the details. Here is what you need to know: believe the previous reviews! Yes, he pretends to be a good guy. Yes, he tells you he’s coming and never shows or has the courtesy to inform you he is no longer coming. Yes, he is terrible at time management. Yes, he will call your home warranty and tell them you are harassing him when you are not. Yes, he is a complete waste of your time and money. No, he will not fix your AC. I mean really, the list is endless. After 30 days of dealing with this clown’s inability to communicate, I asked my home warranty to reassign my claim. The new tech came out and had our AC replaced in 2 days! His title of Master HVAC tech and 20+ years of experience don’t mean anything when he is literally doing the bare minimum. All he does is diagnosis for home warranties and will do everything and anything to get out of actually repairing your system. Save yourself some stress and if you get assigned Almost Froze HVAC by your home warranty, ask for a new service provider.

Oh! And if you do decide to give him a try, make sure you ask him for his new license since the one he provides is in his invoice doesn’t even belong to him.

SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Randy doesn't have any communication skills. He was approved to do an AC unit install by my warranty company. He wouldn't even call to set an appointment. 9 days later, I'm still calling him every day to see what day and time he would come. He canceled my order with the warranty company and told them I was harassing and abusing him....WTH!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM!

To sum it up I had to terminate services before the problem with my AC was determined because the technician evidently had too many jobs on his plate. Unprofessional and very unreliable. The first visit took 6 days. He was supposed to return in 2 or less. Never did or called. When I called him he said within the next 2 days. No call no show again. I called him again and he still couldn’t give a firm date after I told him my Mom was on oxygen with breathing issues. At that point I told him I was going with another company and he accused me of not appreciating the “favor” he was doing me by coming back out since the claim was denied by insurance. Not sure what favor that would be when obviously I expected to pay out of pocket. I lost my service/diagnostic fee and had to start all over after more than 2 weeks with no AC.
I DO NOT recommend this company.

This service was scheduled thru a home warranty company. Our job is to diagnose the problem and report to the home warranty company. We did exactly that. The service fee you paid was agreed upon by you and the warranty company when you signed up. We did not charge you a penny more than the service fee. Unfortunately the home warranty company denied your claim.
We went above and beyond ( which we often do) by pressurizing your system to try to find a leak which is $175 service and never collected a penny for this service.
Yes we are busy, its HOT. We often work 7 days a week all summer to service our customers. A service few match or appreciate these days!! When did it become a bad thing to be busy or give some things for free?
Sometimes our free and paid service is a little backed up. As you know the job market it HOT and people are lined up to come to work!!!!! RIGHT!

Very unresponsive & unreliable This AC repair compony was assigned by our warranty. Both Warranty & this compony are very unprofessional. They kept blaming each for my AC not being fixed for almost a month. My son was getting bloody nose but these compony don't seem to care. When Randy showed up he charged us full $1400 plus & did not help get reimbursed so we ended up paying double.

This guy is the rudest human being I’ve ever met. He left my elderly parents in a sweltering hot house and then ignored them. Then I called him and he cursed me out and hung up on me. He has real mental problems. He needs a psych evaluation and a straight jacket. He is dangerous!!!! Don’t EVER USE HIM! EVER!

I wish I could rate them 0 stars!!!! I'm completely upset with the fact that I've called them multiple times, left a voice mail heard nothing back, and then I tried several times to call them and the last time they picked up and hung up without saying a word. The lack of professionalism and communication with their customers is baffling. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!
