My previous comment got deleted for some reason. ------------------------------------------------------------ My upstairs air conditioning stopped working on 8/31 afternoon. I found Bower Heating & Air Conditioning online because they have good review, and called the office. The technician arrived at my home, found out the Freon leaked out, and said he would put in Freon for us. I asked the technician if we should replace the current unit considering the AC is more than 10 years old, and we put in Freon one year ago. He said he would suggest to put in the Freon instead of changing the AC, but he said we can schedule a leak inspection later when the office opens on 9/3. He put in Freon and charged us $449.
On 9/1, 2pm, we found out the AC stopped working again. We called Bower's office, and the office said the earliest time they can send a technician is 9/5.
On 9/5, Bower's technician arrived and told us there is a bad hole on the indoor coil, and we have to replace the entire indoor unit. I was a little bit upset, because I just paid $449, especially I asked Bower's first technician if we need to replace the unit, and I got the answer as No. Then I have been told if I replace my AC with Bower, they can charged me $449 less for the work.
Later, Bower's salesman arrived and gave me a quote of $5,357.53, and I have been told that they could bring the price down to $4,908.53 by deducting $449 dollars I paid initially. However, I called another HVAC company and got a quote of $4400, which is even cheaper than Bower's price deducting the initial payment.
I called the office of Bower Heating & Air Conditioning, and asked if they could do a price match, because it doesn’t make any sense for me to pay $500 dollars more after I already paid them $449. The general manager from Bower told me they cannot do the price match, and said that they have to put in Freon to find out the AC was leaking. However, I don't believe that statement was honest. The technician from the second HVAC company (I called for a quote) just checked my AC for ten minutes and identified the bad hole very quickly, so I don't understand why Bower's technician couldn't do a quick troubleshooting before they suggested me to put in Freon.
I didn't end up working with Bower to replace my AC, but I have been charged by Bower for $449 dollars for less than 20 hours cool air.
The team at Bower did the HVAC install on our new home and has performed maintenance ever since, both spring and fall. To a person, Bower techs and staff have been top notch and great to deal with. Dewayne (service tech) was here today and took his time to prepare our system for what may be a hot summer coming. He explained all he did and in such a way I could understand and learn. Best of the best in all ways. Thank you Dwayne!
My wife reached out on FB for recommendations and Bower was highly recommended naming Technician Zeke specifically. My wife scheduled an appointment and we were surprised at how soon they were able to respond. They notified us of the time they would be there and they we’re punctual. We were very impressed with Zeke. He was professional and polite and remained patient as I attempted to, in layman’s terms, describe our issue. In a very short time he diagnosed and repaired our furnace and the cost was very reasonable. We would definitely recommend Bower and request Zeke if you call on them.
Today was my first interaction with Bower and from my call to schedule the appointment to the service work completed has been fantastic. The customer service was excellent. I would like to especially brag on the service person that came- Zeke. He is a true asset to your team. He is friendly and knowledgeable. He made me feel very comfortable in his assessment and repair of my unit.
You have given Service at its best and I will recommend your company to everyone I know.

The representative was also on time, explained things thoroughly and surprised me by letting me know that they could install my new furnace 2 days later. I had been without heat all winter. The installation workers also showed up on time and everything went well. Bowers H&A will be my new go-to company for my heating and air conditioning needs!!!!
Great company with friendly and efficient employees. From front office staff to installers, we were very impressed with the professionalism and pleasant experience. Installers were on time and cleaned up after the installation. You wouldn't have even known they had been here except for the cool air coming from a working AC unit that they installed 😊 I would highly recommend them to friends and family.
My heating system, that is located in the attic, stopped working and needed to be repaired as soon as possible. They got me scheduled fast and were able to come the same day due to a cancellation. They came out to just get me an estimate and within 30 minutes the heater was fixed for just the service fee and labor cost. They were friendly and very professional, even stopping to pet my dogs who were excited to see them. This is a company that I will continue to give my business to.
Dwayne Watson provided out service today, He was absolutely wonderful. Very educational, talented and supportive to help us solve our a/c issue. I am so glad to have had Dwayne service our system and will request his support in the future. The Bower heating and air conditioning communication is also wonderful as well. I had a central heat pump for the main living area of our house replaced. It was an amazing job completed by a whole team of members from the Bower company. I worked in the industry for over 30 years before retiring 15 years ago. I know excellent work when I see it and this was excellent work.
It began on a Monday morning this spring when I discovered my heat pump was no longer working. I made a frantic call to Bower and was told that they were backed up and it may take a week or so to get to me. When I explained that I had a very ill wife at home suffering from an incurable disease, Veronica and Heatherly worked together to schedule one of their service technicians to come to our house the following day.
Zeke showed up on Tuesday morning and quickly determined that my 15 year old heat pump was probably not salvageable. It was completely out of refrigerant and the cost of repair, even it if would be possible, would be out of sight.
I had chosen Bower several years before for my service and maintenance work because they were a Trane dealer with a good reputation. I quickly discovered that the supply chain problem the nations’ companies have been dealing with had taken its toll on the Trane company. All Trane heat pumps of the size and performance I wanted were on back order.
Bower’s principal sales person, Chris, quickly educated me on the high quality and performance of Amana heat pumps. Although I was completely unaware of the brand, Chris’s arguments were convincing and I chose one. It had to be shipped in from North Carolina and arrived the following Tuesday afternoon. Their installation crew showed up at our home the following morning to install it.
Danny, Tyler, and Barry did a wonderful job of installation. The installation of the outdoor unit was straight forward but the installation of the indoor unit required a miracle performed by Danny. The self contained unit was an enclosed cabinet with the fan, indoor coil, and associated accessories. Unfortunately it was 2 inches wider than would fit up the ladder and into the attic of our home. Danny completely disassembled the entire cabinet, carried the individual comments into the attic, and reassembled the cabinet in the attic. It was an impressive piece of work to watch being done.
Their were minor problems with the thermostat before the system could be put into operation. The Service manager, Sam, came to our home the following morning and quickly solved the thermostat problem. Our system began working immediately and I couldn’t be any happier. It is extremely quiet and clearly high performing.
