Recently had Kohmar out to clean the air ducts in my home and I was very pleased with their service. Pricing was reasonable. The technicians who came out were prompt, professional, and knowledgeable, explaining every step of the process as they completed the work. Would both recommend and use their services again.

I discovered the AeroSeal product while watching an episode of TOH. As an energy-saving enthusiast, I was intrigued by its efficiency claims. In short, AeroSeal’s primary benefits are a cost-effective way to seal leaky air ducts, which will result in more airflow through the system and money savings by not losing up to 30% of air escaping from all joints and junctions in the ductwork. This statement caught my attention and led me to do silly amounts of research. After being convinced that AeroSeal is indeed the real deal, I called AeroSeal directly to determine who in the Richmond area was an authorized vendor, attended AeroSeal classes, and kept up their education efforts. This conversation led me to Kohmar Air Duct Cleaning and Brian Kohring’s team. From the initial quote to the completed job, Kohmar did a first-rate job. The team is highly professional and very customer-centric. I asked A LOT of questions during the sealing process and never got the “oh dear goodness, not another question look”. In fact, the team was very enthusiastic about sharing details and explaining the process along the way. Setup takes a while, but once the team verifies that everything is fully connected, they pressurize the system and determine duct leakage. This gives them a baseline number to gauge progress as they pump the AeroSeal into the system. My initial reading showed a loss of 267 CFMs, equivalent to a 50.3 square inch hole. My air system produces 1600 CFMs, so I lost 17% of the delivered air through gaps in my ductwork. After an hour or so, Brian declared success, and the numbers were astounding. The new pressure test showed a loss of only 7 CFMS, which is equivalent to a 1.3 square inch hole. More importantly, my system is now retaining 99.6% of all air produced as compared to 83% at the beginning!. The process was duplicated for a second zone, and the numbers were equally amazing. I was losing 25% of the produced air, and after AeroSealing, the system is delivering 99.1% to the registers. I am ecstatic with the results.

Birds had gotten into our dryer vent and left a bunch of debris so our clothes weren't drying. On top of that, while trying to clean it ourselves, we got a vent cleaner stuck in the vent. It was too high for us to get to so we called Kohmar and an individual named Thomas and his coworker came over and took care of both for us!

The company was extremely professional - they called before to let us know when they'd be arriving and even installed our dryer again after the vent cleaning.

Day of service was very good. Crew was professional and efficient. Scheduling the service and followup let a little to be desired. They called to schedule us and then on the day of service no crew, and when I called to see if they were coming, they did not have us on the schedule. Rescheduled and all went smoothly the second time. After the service I emailed to confirm that dryer duct cleaning had been performed and never got a response. So, to sum up, scheduling and follow-up have room for definite improvement, but the actual service was fine.

Kohmar came out and cleaned our dryer duct/vent due to our dryer struggling to dry clothes. They removed the obstruction and the dryer works great again. Very professional, good communication while on site. Highly recommend them.

The whole process from obtaining estimate through the duct and vent cleaning was handled with utmost professionalism. The crew arrived on time, work efficiently and took great care of our old house vents, many were painted over.

We’re very pleased with the job well done, and highly recommend Kohmar. We immediately could tell the difference of the clean vents: the AC airflow is much cooler, thus the HVAC unit doesn’t run as long as before; the sound of the air coming through the vents isn’t as muffled by dusty vents anymore.
