I am 78 and have used many repair/service people in the past. Michael was by far the best service person I have ever used!! He did major repairs and was competent in every aspect of his work. Jody(office manager) was more than fair in her repair estimates and charges. She is very personable and adds to this remarkable company. I will surely use them again and recommend them to my friends.

My experience with SMI Mechanical was very good and I would recommend them to anyone who needs HVAC service or repair. The office manager, Jody, is very responsive and professional. Mike, the mechanic who installed the condensing unit and cooling coil, was professional and took great care to lay down drop cloths in the house so as not to track dirt into my home. Mike clearly explained the work that he was going to perform and answered every question that I had. I appreciated Jody's honesty and passing on a savings to me that she could have kept for additional profit. In September 2020 my AC was not cooling and SMI diagnosed the system and the cooling coil was leaking. The existing system was 15 years old and at the end of its useful life and replacement was the recommendation, which I agreed with that diagnosis. SMI provided me with a quote to replace the system at that time. I decided not to replace the system at that time because it was the end of the cooling season and I figured that I would wait to spend the money. As it got warmer this year I contacted Jody at SMI to provide me with an updated quote, as I assumed that the quote from September 2020 would no longer be valid, which is normal after 8 months. I anticipated that the quote would at least be the same but would most likely increase because of all of the supply chain issues and price increases related to COVID. To my surprise the quote was approximately 12% LOWER than the September 2020 quote. I called Jody to verify and make sure that there was nothing overlooked in her quote. Jody verified the quote was correct and explained to me that their price for that particular piece of equipment went down and they were passing that savings on to me. I greatly appreciated Jody honesty and passing that savings on to me. She could have just gave me the same quote as the September quote and I would not have questioned it. I HIGHLY recommend SMI Mechanical.

We have used SMI for years. The did the original install of our HVAC system. Anytime we have had to call them, the service has been prompt and the techs have been very professional and polite. They do a great job of explaining and taking care of any issues. Highly recommend them.

Jon with SMI Mechanical came out to my home today due to a complete failure of my AC system. He had the necessary part and repaired it within an hour of arrival. The technician was competent and honest. The price for repair was fair. I would highly recommend SMI for your HVAC needs.

John and the crew were outstanding installing my new American Standard HVAC system from start to finish and the unit is great and my house was left as clean as though they were never there! They are quick with repairs when necessary and Jodie is outstanding at customer service. Highly recommend!

Was December when my hvac unit broke (would not blow hot air). An initial contractor (not SMI) came by and said I needed a new unit. SMI came by for second opinion and looked a little deeper and only had to replace a part. Saved me some $$. They were quick and responsive and answered all my questions. I recommend.

Just want to say thanks and express my appreciation to Jon Hamm, Michael Calender and Xxavier Calender for a job well done. I had spoken with Jon the week before about the scope of the job and set up a date and time for the work. On January 20th at the time agreed to time Jon and his crew arrived with all of the necessary tools and materials to complete the job. They removed the main supply duct from under the house, re-wrapped and reinstalled it. Sounds easy enough but limited access and the fact that it was the coldest day of the year so far added to the challenge. Attention to detail, fine craftsmanship and a positive attitude in spite of a nasty windchill made for a good day and one very satisfied customer.

As a naive military member serving in Norfolk, VA I was getting deployed and leaving my pregnant wife at home. My air conditioning unit in my home went out right before I had to leave so I had SMI Mechanical come out and give me a quote. I wasn't smart enough to get multiple quotes and their swindling salesman sold me on a $11,072 unit. Mind you I live in a home that is 1,080 sq ft and they did no repair or installation of venting or ducting in my home. The only thing that was performed was a removal of my old unit and install of a new one. Price gouging at it's finest. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Good job SMI on supporting our troops by taking money out of their pockets to a grotesque amount. I'm mad at them as well as myself by not doing my homework. Don't make the same mistake I did.
