I appreciated that their preventative maintenance procedures substituted checking AC supply & return temperature drop instead of direct freon pressure gauge readings. In the past, other AC service companies have automatically performed that and left my system with exceedingly slow freon leaks that I paid for dearly the next time they came. It is better for the home owner and environment not to do gauge readings if the delta T is sufficient. Thanks Simmons. The tech also replaced a hard to access air filter, cleared a blocked drain line, and cleaned out a bunch of leaves in the outside package unit coils.

As always Simmons comes through for us. We have been using Simmons for years. They are alway professional, efficient, and courteous. Tim does our contract maintenances and repairs. He is honest and explains things well. The company knows that when I schedule, it has to be with Tim! We recently needed to replace our upstairs unit. A great team consisting of Scott, Jason, and Branden just completed the job. I really appreciated their hard work, attention to detail, and the fact that they cleaned up after themselves. We had to have a part re-installed on our hot water heater after we’ve installed the new water heater ourselves, and the part goes to our geothermal unit. Gary A, who is our normal service person, came in a mask and protective gear, did the swap, and was courteous and professional. He’s been to our home several times, and always does a great job. Very experienced with geothermal units and always meets our needs.

A lightening storm took out the control panel of our generator while we were out of town. This was discovered when Simmons came out to do the annual service (400.00 by the way). I called when we returned and had the displeasure of dealing with a pretty rude customer service rep. Another lady called me back and explained that they would have to order the part, etc....understood. I asked her what the total price would be to get the part and have it installed. She said it would be 1,449. Fair enough. The board was a little over 1,000 and she said she would waive the overnight fee. Well, the technician came out to install and was there for about an hour to an hour and a half--he didn't bring any fuses (duh) and had to wait for his boss to deliver them. The shocker is that I received a bill for 1,663.00. I called and spoke to the young lady who gave me the quote and she said she couldn't find it. I didn't have it in front of me at the time but I did find my notes later. She never called me back. I bit the bullet and sent the payment but am not happy to be charged over 600 bucks for a board that took about an hour to install. I have been a long time customer of this company and we absolutely adored Tom. I'm sorry he is gone--I feel like our issue would have been resolved with a little better customer service and attention to detail. Unfortunately I feel like we will have to find another company to service our generator. Update--Beau did call me and took care of the issue. I appreciate the responsiveness.

Of the three local HVAC businesses I messaged this was the only one to call me back. They curbed expectations in a busy time (beginning of the hot weather) and acted professionally the whole time. The technician arrived promptly at the beginning of the scheduled window and immediately had the idea of the solution after a five minute explanation of the problem. Through the repair the technician was kind enough to talk me through what he was doing in a manner a layman can understand. This is going to number one in my book for heating and cooling maintenance repair in Hampton Roads.

I am so pleased with my purchase from Simmons! We got a new Lennox system installed and we couldn't be happier. Julio and Keith installed our unit and re did our entire duct system. They were so polite, extremely knowledgeable, and the job was done expeditiously and with such quality and care. I recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing HVAC company.
