Pretty frustrating to work with. If you're lucky, you (may) have them respond to you... after weeks of silence. Their prices are also on the high end, and constantly try to up-sell things you don't need/didn't ask for.

There are plenty of alternatives; save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Robert identified the problem quickly and explained how it should be corrected. He worked quickly and efficiently. He was very accommodating as I was on conference calls during my interactions with him. He also explained future options for replacement of my water heater for my information. Will call agin!!

!!! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! THEIR ESTIMATES ARE EXORBITANT!!! My elderly parents hired Sam & Sons for several jobs including; small plumbing repairs, small drywall repair/painting and insulation/weather proofing. I am an experienced plumber and carpenter and have worked for commercial contracting companies. Unfortunately, my parents didn't inform me that they hired someone to perform the work until after the fact. I learned after my mother contacted me to inform me that one of the exterior pipes that S&S had replaced had frozen and subsequently, they had no running water to their fixtures. I made the trip out to their house (I don't live close) and inspected the pipe to find that the insulation was poorly installed (gaps exposing the copper in several sections).

I contacted S&S to explain the problem and they sent a rep out to inspect the issues. The rep agreed that the insulation was not installed the proper way and that he would have someone from the office contact me to set up an apt to have a a technician come back out to resurrect the issues. Two days passed and I still didn't get a call so I contacted the rep and left a message. I'm still waiting to hear back from him.

Meanwhile, I reviewed the invoices and completed work on the other jobs my parents hired S&S to perform. I was beside myself at what I discovered. In my professional experience, the price that S&S charged for all the work performed was AT LEAST 3 TIMES what should have been charged and the completed work was mediocre to poor in terms of quality.

Bottom line: AVOID THIS COMPANY THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU!!!!

An older adult I work for called them to unclog his toilet and they left his home after a few hours with 3 invoices for over $7,000. We had a Master Plumber evaluate the work done and they estimated the cost at $1,200. Buyer beware. Get more than one bid -- then hire a firm to do the work for you.

German was prompt; in fact he arrived 30 min early. He assessed the A/C problem through diagnostic testing and manual labor. The problem could not be resolved the same day due to the compressor being overheated and could not be properly tested. When German returned, he completed the testing and installed the replacement parts which resulted in the A/C system working again. He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns so that I felt fully informed and aware of the lifespan of the compressor and when it should be replaced. He was truly professional and courteous. Job well done!

One of the most uncomfortable, unprofessional, and profane visit I've ever had! The plumber came to my home, disinterested and angry. My landlord called for them to come fix the sink garbage disposal since it was clogged and wasn't working.

From the moment this bozo started to work, he started using profanity and yelling which in turn scared my 2 year old daughter. When I told him to stop he apologized but continued to use profanity and become very aggressive at the job he had to do.

He ended up leaving a mess in my kitchen, clogged the bathroom sink where he dumped all the dirty water, leaving shoe prints all over my stairs and kitchen, and then leaving without telling me he's leaving! Not to mention, my two year old daughter was very scared for me to even leave her side because she was traumatized by this unknown stranger yelling and using foul language in the home.

Not to mention, after all this, the job wasn't even done!

I called the place to tell them of my experience. Said they'd call back but never did.

What lazy, unprofessional, unorganized, disinterested, disrespectful company and employees.

I don't recommend you ever use this service for your household needs and repairs.

Edwin from Sam and Sons came by and did a really great job fixing and upgrading the electrical panel in my home. They were quick and efficient and very kind which is all you can really ask for. Definitely would recommend to a friend in the future.

SAM & SONS services just completed a major remodeling project in our 60 year old

house in McLean VA. The plan was to build a sunroom, completely renovate the kitchen, replace

all the interior doors, replace the trims and moldings in every room, replace all of the hardwood

floors in the house, upgrade the electrical box and electrical wiring system of the house, water

proof the basement as well as water excavation of the foundation from outside.

We have worked with many other contractors, but chose SAM & SONS. We decided

on SAM & SONS after they had finished an extremely professional work they did fixing an

emergency water leak in our first floor bathroom that happened on a Saturday at midnight.

All the work was detailed in the contract as well as what was and was not included in

their proposal. A detailed project plan and a payment schedule were provided in the contract.

SAM & SONS services is a very professional organization. From start to finish, everyone

involved with my project has been great. The work crews were competent and pleasant. The

house looks beautiful, and the cleanup left no trace of them being there.

We can honestly say from start to finish it was a pleasure having them do this work. The

workers and the sub-contractors that were brought in for demolition, plumbing, electrical and tile were

professional, courteous and always cleaned up very neatly after their work was done.

We were extremely pleased with the quality of the workmanship done by your company.

All of the people who worked on my home were friendly and professional. They showed up

every day on time and conducted the job in an extremely professional manner always wearing

their uniform no matter what job was involved. This aspect was important to us because we felt

comfortable and our neighbors felt comfortable as the neighborhood has a concern regarding

strangers being in the area.

All your men are just great at whatever they do. Each day they arrived at 8:30 AM and

worked continuously until the end of the day and upon completion, thoroughly cleaned up and

took away any debris.

SAM & SONS is a very organized and well-run company. There was a daily

communication to us from the crew. Updates included when each sub contractor would be

starting, a timeline of delivery dates for materials and if there were any anticipated delays at all.

The Project Management was excellent. Everything went as planned.

We appreciate the dedication, to the job, of SAM & SONS’s team of workers and their

very pleasant behavior. This made it easy for us to tide over the difficulty in living in the house

while the construction was in progress. On the whole, it was an investment well made with SAM

& SONS performing the job for us. I would recommend SAM & SONS to my relatives and

friends.

Sam always returned my phone calls promptly and would very patiently answer my

questions. He would explain everything that was being done step by step which I very much

needed.

We highly recommend SAM & SONS and we will certainly continue to use them in the

future.

This represents the first review I have ever made. Here goes....Jay G. did a great job estimating costs and being flexible...then the team, led by Frank did a great job with the drywall repair and subsequent paint job. I did not think through what the final product would like but was very pleased with the outcome - wow factor! I trust these guys.

HORRIBLE!!! They installed smoke alarms for an insane price (my bad that I did not compare with other companies), and some of them need to change batteries at least once a year while they are all supposed to be all wired. I would give ZERO star if it is an option for review. HORRIBLE!!!
