We live in Twin Falls, ID (200 miles away from the Contractors office). We bought a new (built in 1999) home in September 2017. It was a VA purchase and should have been inspected better but when we were putting up the Christmas Lights in December we noticed that there was dry rot on the eaves of the home. The original shingles had not been overlapped on the eaves so water damage was discovered. I contacted several roofing contractors and SEARS was the Contractor we picked.

Their professionalism and attention to detail was tops. Their response time was very short and I have never seen a better roof than we have now. I will use their Contractors in the future.

We used Sear/Transform Home Improvements for a small cabinet refacing job, along with a new back splash.

The Sales Project Consultant, Matt Nielsen, arrived an hour early, stayed an extra hour over the quoted time, used high pressure sales tactics, and set the wrong expectations. One of his major selling points, we were told multiple times, was this was supposed to take "3-4 days". The project took 3 MONTHS. We understand that delays happen, but first an employees took the wrong measurements. Then the wrong parts were delivered multiple times, causing us to wait weeks in-between installations. There was an extreme lack of communication and professionalism from the Project Coordinator Amy Hess to get our issues resolved.

The materials used and the end product are great. The installers did a good job and had good communication.

We will never use Sears or Transform Home Improvements again, and will never recommend them either.

We were very happy with the service that we received. The only problem was when the salesman came by. There were two of them. One of them refused to understand that we had a limited time that we could meet with them. He wanted to keep telling us how the service that we would receive from Sears could't be beat. I had to tell him three times that we were interested in the product and the price.

We did buy the furnace and the AC from Sears. The installers were very professional. They showed up when promised. They did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves.

We were promised some shop your way points based on the purchase. It has been almost three months since we were to get those points. We still have not received the points. They were valued at over $800 dollars. While the opportunity to receive the points did not affect our purchase decision. It is very frustrating. I have called Sears on at least ten occasions. They say that there is nothing they can do. I have called the installer. They said that it was a problem on their end. That they would get it taken care of immediately. It has been four weeks.

Wanted to replace our carpet and also add some flooring. Estimate came to almost $14,000. Only contracted for lower level, 2 rooms and a bath for $4,000. Installation was promised in 2-3 weeks, wasn't done till week 5. Installers took our kids piggy bank and almost a $100. Couldn't complete first day and had 2nd set of contractors 3 days later. Will NEVER ever deal with Sears again. Got a bid from Loews for the rest of the job for same material's to finish the whole house at half what Sears would have charged plus a 10% military discount on materials.

Hired Sears to install our kitchen. The end product is great, happy with the cabinets, the countertop and the work done by the contractors was great. Couple of things that were disappointing:
    1) I dislike the pressure sales technique that was used. When we met with the sales person (David Petersen) to get a quote, we had to sit through a slide presentation about the company and it’s background for about 1 hour. I don’t care about that, give me the quote. After about a three hour meeting, we were told the total cost and if we sign on the same day, we get a discount. The sales technique worked, we signed, but we will never recommend this company because of it. It’s like they were trying too hard to explain to us why are we paying a premium price. We agree to pay so much thinking everything will go smooth and there will be great communication, which brings me to the second disappointment.
    2) Communication with Michael Schultd, project manager, wasn’t great during kitchen install especially when we had lots of questions and concerns. To his credit, he seemed to address some of our concerns but he wasn’t communicating his plans with us. One of our concerns such as installing a filler above the fridge was not addressed at all. The contractors simply said it’s not part of the contract. Actually, I seemed to get that answer a lot from the contractors.
Overall, I feel that we paid a premium price for our kitchen install and we expected good customer service. We really didn’t.

I am not the type of person to write reviews on services or products that I received. Sears has been sending me emails to please review their service that I have received from them. So here we go. It started in August 2018 and I was looking at doing some remodeling to the house, change from swamp cooler to central air, change the carpet in the house to hard wood floors or something similar, a new roof, and remodel of the 2 showers we have. I met with the salesman and got everything set up, I thought it was going to be a quick job as it was all being done by one company instead of many different contractors. That was the reason we went with Sears, BIG MISTAKE. Talking with the sales man he told me it would take about 4 weeks to get all the products in and then 2 -4 days for the flooring and 3 days for each bathroom and 2 days for the roof and the Central air would be in that first week and would only take 1 day. Everything was to be done and complete by Thanksgiving according to the salesman and we would be getting close to $8000.00 in points to redeem we wanted to get our kitchen appliances with before Christmas. Let’s see the floors were started in October and they finished them in February 2019. The roof was put on in Dec right before Christmas but they didn’t have the gutters so those weren’t put on until February 2019. It is now March 1, 2019 and we are still waiting on the bathrooms to be complete. We are going on 7 months when all this should have been put in before the end of 2018. Sad thing is nobody could get their stories the same every time I talked to someone their response is, we are waiting on the products, everything should have been ordered and received before November, or everything is on hold because of the bankruptcy, well it is no wonder they went bankrupt. Nobody wants to pay when it takes 7 months to do something that should not take more than 2 months. The only thing they did quick was the central air that was put in the end of August. If I would have known how they would have been I would have gone with someone else as there are contractors out there that would have had all this done before Christmas. We went with the new vinyl flooring which are nice, but they are not scratch resistant like the salesman told me they were.

Our experience with our flooring was great! From tear-out to adding the final touches we were very pleased with the service and quality of the flooring. The lifetime warranty with a solid company that's going to be around for a good long while to service any needs we may have is a big reason why we went with Sears!

Installer was respectful but 2 hours late to the job. The job took 11 hours to complete. He left before the electrician finished the job. Both of them left trash in my back yard. Air conditioner that was installed worked but does not cool the house as promised. Multiple attempts to contact installer led to voice mail. Contacting Sears customer service is a headache of its own. Finally got them to schedule a service visit. They say the guy will call me to set up a time. Only time will tell if he shows up and fixes the ac.

I had my house roof replaced, siding put on shed, as well as a new exterior door installed on the shed. I am impressed by the quality of all three jobs. Each of the three installers took time to answer my questions and made sure that any concerns I had were fixed. Even the installer of the door took the time to wipe down the frame of the door. I would recommend Sears for any home improvement jobs.

We paid a premium for a new roof expecting the verbal promises the salesmen made were good. Wrong. A a team dedicated to roofing was NOT used. Our roof was NOT the only job they were doing at the same time. They were over a MONTH, NOT three or four days completing the project. They did NOT park their work trailer where I suggested, out of the lane and better access for them . Instead they blocked my side drive and broke branches out of our hedge to make a path to the house. The crew was NOT aware we were supposed to get a ridge vents to replace the roof vents. We also paid for soffit vents that Sears and the contractor had differing opinions on how many. They did NOT do a magnet sweep for nails at all. we found nails on our deck and in our riding lawnmower tire. Overall the construction crew was cordial and understanding though, NOT aware of all the points in our contract with Sears. Bottom line, Sears management, their salesmen, and the contractor were NOT on the same page. All considered, I would use the construction company again, but NOT contracted to Sears.
