Authority Heating & Cooling

First of all, everyone was super nice and very professional. And the fact that it was the beginning of the busy summer rush and they were able to squeeze in an appointment to come take a look at our system the very next day after I called was amazing.
I was hoping for a free estimate on what was wrong with our system (it was icing up big time after running the AC for a bit, even though the outside unit was brand new), but instead got a $79 fee that would cover the cost of their figuring out whatever the issue was. They did mention that the 79 would be discounted from the total amount later on if we did end up having them perform the service, but yeah just threw me for a loop there.
We had already had a guy out to check it out a week prior and he was stumped as to what the issue might be, so I was excited to get them out to take a look.
They found a few things that could potentially be issues, but they didn't really make it out to be that this would totally solve the issue. These 2 things were fixing a crimp in the refrigerant line ($599.00) as well as expanding the ductwork that leads into the system for more air flow ($299). Plus $68.58 for parts. Thats almost $1000 dollars!
Now, I will say that the outside unit is brand new just installed last summer. I know that the inside unit is dated, but to spend thousands last summer on a new unit and than another 1000 to fix an issue with it seemed crazy to me so I called a third person to come take a look.
He found a separate issue on the outside unit (a shrader valve had a leak and was leaking refrigerant so the whole system was low on refrigerant and that was the reason for the icing).
Instead of $1000 for a potential fix to the issue we paid $200 to actually fix the issue (and most of that cost was actually the cost for a pound and a half of refrigerant that had leaked).
Now the system runs great (its been about 2 weeks now).
I would say overall that Authority is much much better than something like Any Hour (did not have a very good experience with them a few years ago and have heard not so good things from others), but we ended up finding something better so I did 3 stars.

They came to clean and tune up my AC unit. Did a great job. Fast and thorough. Will definitely use again!

We had no heat in the middle of winter. They were quick to get to us. Luckily it was just a bad thermostat and the technician replaced it quickly. I appreciated his advice on our older unit and gave us some good maintenance tips.

Chris Sullivan is THE best! He is professional, honest and completely trustworthy. There is no one else I would trust for my HVAC needs. Authority should be thrilled to have him as an employee.

The customer service here is 10/10. All of their technicians and representatives have been extremely kind & professional. They have been attentive and dedicated to figuring out the best solution for us! I am so impressed with the employees here (Anthon, Ian, Dave, Malcom, and many others!) and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone needing installation and/or maintenance. Just some seriously awesome people who know their stuff!

I have worked for many company’s over the last 7 years and I have never felt so at home. I highly recommend the service we have to offer it is honest the price are fair and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else. Glad to be apart of the company and excited to be apart of it.

(Chris even came over because I asked them to upgrade my motor, and instead of scheduling me down the road, they got it done!)

Authority Heating and Cooling is a great company that has always provided me top notch service. They installed my heating and cooling system into my home when it was being built, and I have enjoyed the quality of the system for the past eight years. My home is always a comfortable temperature no matter where you are. I also subscribe to the yearly maintenance service and they come out in the winter to clean and check my furnace and to do the same for my heat pump in the summer. The employees are always on time, personable, and do a great job maintaining our system. I always recommend this company to friends and family.

What a great experience!My furnace stopped blowing hot air when it was set to be 9 degrees that night. At first, they didn't have any appointments until Monday but realizing the gravity of the situation Chris the service manager decided to come out himself and take a look at the problem and he fixed it. He even stuck around to make sure everything was working alright. That's what I call amazing customer service and I really appreciated it more than I could say.👏
