Please let me first say, I appreciate Hal Watson, Jason, coming out last minute to fix our AC unit 2 days ago. We had our daughters birthday party this Saturday and needed it repaired last minute when it wasn't cooling on one side of our home. We were able to reach them at 9 am, and schedule Jason for 1pm. He did communicate with me when he was running late, and I appreciate that.
Unfortunately, they repaired the same exact part they replaced 15 months ago, the run capacitor. They also had to add a pound of refrigerant again, but charged us $145, instead of the $96 that they charged us for 15 months ago for the exact same amount. This service call cost us $721.58 and 15 months ago they charged us $306.72. I called and spoke with both Kaitlin and Vickie. She informed me they have a one year warranty so it would not be covered. After me explaining how I don't understand and inquiring about warranty, she did take 30% off the price of the capacitor, 30% of $89.05, about $30 off. This brought the total down to $690.63. I'm unhappy with the fact that it's the same exact part that had to be replaced in 15 months and that the problem was fixed or corrected the first time. Clearly there still is a leak that wasn't found or identified still. Perhaps the start kit and volt contactor they installed and charged us for will prevent the capacitor from going out again, for a 3rd time, in 15 months. I understand the over time after hours charges and had no discrepancy with that.
We called at 8:00am in regards to our ac not working. They had a technician at our house at 9:45am and finished by 10:30am. We were very satisfied with the work performed. The technician was very polite and informative. We would highly recommend their services.
I have used Hal Watson A/C for several years and continue to be impressed each time they come out for any reason.
After Harvey flooding, they inspected all the units and only had to change a capacitor or two and spray the contacts with WD-40. The utmost honesty and integrity at a vulnerable time for consumers. The most recent service was due to a nearby lighting strike. I called at 7 AM (they don't open until 8 AM) and received a call back minutes later from the serviceman to discuss the issue. He was at the house by 11 AM the same day, identified the problem within minutes and went to lunch, picked up the needed part and had it installed by 1 PM.
The level of professional, knowledge, care and courtesy that the tech from Hal Watson, Thomas, displayed is extremely hard to find anywhere today. I wish they worked on more than just HVAC systems!
Pricing is very fair and reasonable and their honesty is superb!

We had many AC companies come to the house and everyone wanted to sell us a new unit with no explanation other than it is 14 years old. Hal came to the house, fixed everything the previous people overlooked and explained what they issue was with the current unit. Offered to fix existing unit, and after looking at the cost we decided to get a new unit. They had it installed the next day for the same price as everyone else with no hidden fees. I would highly recommend these guys they did a great job.
We have been very lucky to have found Hal Watson. The customer service is top notch, the technicians are timely and professional and we don’t feel like we’re getting price gouged. We definitely recommend them.
Not pleased right now. Called them out because air was not cooling as quickly as usual. Employee said it was low on coolant and had a non repairable leak. Luckily the part was under warranty, unfortunately they charge you enough in labor to still cover their end. A job that took 2 men less than 2 hours cost us $875 in labor. I'm certain that neither employee made $200+ an hour to be there. They left and the air still didn't cool, in fact it was rising higher than before we called. What the replace part actually necessart? An employee came out again and says we now have a heater problem that needs to be fixed, but don't worry, it will be under warranty. Wonder how much it will cost in labor?? Employees that come out are very nice and respectful, which is why they have 2 stars, but the way the company itself has handled a part that never should have gone out, thus being under warranty, has been very frustrating.
Absolutely best HVAC company!. We have used them for 22 years and have always been completely satisfied with their service. Recommended them to many friends and neighbors who are now happy Hal Watson customers.
Hal Watson always has reliable technicians and perform excellent service at a reasonable price. We have been using them for years and have never been let down.
