Patrick came out the same day we called. The company actually called and gave my wife a heads up as to when he would arrive. He was a good communicator and explained what he was doing very well. He listened to my questions and answered them. He was clean and tidy and fixed the problem. My impression is that these guys have a new company and are really hustling to do a good job and give satisfaction. I signed up for the maintenance deal because I liked Patrick so much.

This company has the WORST technicians. I called them to have my home appraised for a new ventilation system. The technician went into my microwave and my refrigerator. He left my front door open and did not announce that he was leaving for the day. He left his red boutonnieres on my table. Not to mention, that he rummaged through my personal belongings. Very, unprofessional and untrustworthy. Although, when I called to report this information to the home office, the manager there was very nice and understanding.

Another A/C company scheduled by American Home Shield was out a week prior to Ranger. Their repair did not hold and was not answering the phone for me nor for AHS. I insisted on another company and AHS provided one that could not see me until 4 days later. AHS was not “seeing” how they could do better for my family by getting someone the next day, even if a Saturday.

The next morning, after going to bed with the house at 84 degrees, I looked online and found Ranger with high ratings. Submitted my request on line and within 2 minutes of hitting “send”, the scheduler called. They could have someone out within 2 hours and no difference in charge had the service visit been for a Wednesday.

Technician showed up in 1.5 hours and troubleshot the system. Tech was in uniform, professional-looking, and communicated well. Low on freon but after inspecting concluded a valve the prior A/C company should have tightened completely after adding 3 lbs of Freon had not been tightened properly. Initially thought a capacitor was a part of the problem and replaced it. But he tested the old one and it was still good so he put the old one back in place...that was a nice sign of work integrity. He added the shortage of Freon and tested the air temp coming out of the ducts inside each room. House is cool again.
