I only gave them one star because there is no way to give zero! I am beyond frustrated with this company and am filing a report with the BBB.
We were assigned this contractor through our home warranty company. Our downstairs toilet was backing up through our shower. After several attempts to unclog it ourselves, we gave in and made a claim. That was Wednesday the 15th. On Thursday the 16th, we got a call saying that their first available appointment was TUESDAY the 21st!
So, after nearly a week of waiting, the tech finally shows up, late, and is here a total of 7 minutes. He says “we’re going to have to send the bigger truck out here.... it will be FRIDAY (the 24th, if you’re keeping track)
The second truck shows up Friday and tells my wife they have fixed it, but an hour after they leave, not only is it backing up again, but now my toilet is leaking at the base ( where they CLAIMED they replaced the wax ring) all over the floor too. No answer from them, no resolve from the home warranty company, NOTHING!
My wife works in the hospital, in the ICU. We also have a young child in our home. This is unsanitary, and completely unacceptable! Do NOT do business with this shady company!!!!
I highly recommend Nutex Mechanical. I had a slab leak as well as a leaky faucet. Luis and Jorge were sent out to do the repairs. They were fantastic. They were very skilled and knowledgeable. Their work ethic is outstanding. I would definitely use Luis and Jorge from Nutex again.
The year is 2021 and the entire state of Texas is underneath a foot of snow. Millions are without power, but the nature of my misfortune is more specific than that: the lights stayed on… but the heater was not so fortunate. When I awaken it’s 45 degrees in the living room and rapidly dropping to meet the sub-freezing temperatures outside.
Enter Sean- Nutex mechanic, gentleman, and scholar (I assume). Sean literally braved the elements to get to my house so I don’t feel like it’s a stretch to call him an actual hero. His timeliness likely made a meaningful difference in my odds of developing hypothermia over an otherwise VERY cold week- so yeah, not a stretch at all. Nutex gave me an arrival time of 9am to 5pm (which was quite understandable given the circumstances), but here comes Sean right the heck on time- a real “early bird gets the worm” type. Could not possibly have been more appreciative for that.
Sean- the gentleman and scholar that he is- reads the room. He is helpful, patient, responsive to my questions, listens to me complain about how terrible my life is & offers his sympathies, and all the while is doing his actual job. Eventually we reach an impasse - the problem has been isolated (older unit, malfunctioning blower, likely fried by a power surge) and we’ll need to order parts. My heart sinks, but just before my despair manifests in words, Sean chimes in with a potential workaround.
Side note- I work in client services, so I immediately take from his tone & lack of verbal commitment regarding this “workaround” that he couldn’t have been 100% sure it would work, but he had to try it and he didn’t want to get my hopes up about it before he knew. Like what a dang gentleman, am I right? I appreciate that kind of thing because it goes so far beyond his (or most people’s) formal call of duty. I’m not accustomed to my HVAC technician experience literally turning my frown upside down, but he just came across as a good dude. Add on top of that the fact that workaround DID work, and because of his ingenuity I had sustained heat up until when the parts arrived.
Look- if not for the snowstorm this maybe would have been a very regular, mildly positive HVAC experience. Had a problem, problem got solved in a reasonable amount of time. But it bears repeating that this dude (a self-confessed California native & current resident of Texas- two states that aren’t known for their snowfall) drove from freaking Prosper to get to my place (just north of downtown Dallas) and solved my potentially life-threatening problem while hamstrung for parts. More than that, before anything was fixed he (perhaps unwittingly) improved my attitude & kept me pleasantly distracted for enough of the experience that it felt like he was in and out in 10 minutes. This was clutch.
For obvious reasons, nobody wants to have to call a repair man- you just have to sometimes, unfortunately. From where I’m sitting there is value in knowing who to call when/if that unfortunate situation arises. If asked, I’d suggest Nutex.
Great company to do business with. We exclusively use NUTEX for our property management homes. Excellent communication, always shows up within the specified time frame. The heads up call they do greatly helps greatly. Office staff is on top of their game! Follow up is consistent and can't imagine using another company. True story: Hot Water heater went out at one of our listings, contractor advised the hot water tank was still under warranty (to my suprise) and these guys verified coverage and assisted me the process. Long story short, they saved my clients a great deal of money. Really going above and beyond. Highly recommend using NUTEX Mechanical for all your HVAC, Plumbing and electrical needs.
Right now with the coronavirus going around it’s very hard to get someone to come to your house!! My air conditioner unit went out and it got up to 98 degrees in my home!! The whole inside and outside unit had to be replaced! Let me just say that this company made the whole process so easy and had the new unit up and going right away!! The crew that came to my house were so nice and professional!! Thank y’all so much for working with me and coming so quickly!
Choose this company if you want to set up a service call, receive an ETA for the technician and an “on the way” message, track the technician almost to your house, then watch them drive the other direction because there is “another call that they is an emergency.” No notification at all about the change until we called them. They are simply disrespectful of the customer’s time.
Pretty sure our lack of heat was also an emergency too.
Also, “Please wear a mask while on the property because this household is “High Risk for COVID” doesn’t translate to “somebody tested positive for COVID in the household”. After being told that, they still cancelled the service call.
The poor communications in this company wasted an entire day.
Updated to add: NuTex is excellent with heaters, too! Came right away. Very professional and courteous!!
Nutex Mechanics came to fix my A/C quickly! They found the problem and got us up and running in no time. Technician was very nice, and explained what needed to be done.
Incompetent and non-professional is the nicest thing I can say. While I can't speak for their HVAC or electrical repairs, I can say with absolutely certainty they are the worst plumbers I've ever seen. After 8 weeks, 3 parts and 4 repair visits, we are still without a functioning shower. Exacerbated by flighty customer service, I would recommend NUTEX to no one.
Kyle Brakebill installed a new roof for me this summer. Straightforward experience, with honest advice about our options. Kyle and his staff were always on time and prepared and made the process super simple. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone needing a new roof
The technician arrived within 3 hours of my call and replaced the capacitor on my air conditioner. My house started cooling down immediately! They were prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. Perfect!
