I used Hi-Tech for a second opinion. My AC wasn't cooling well. The first place I used said it was low on freon but found no leak (added freon). About 5 weeks later it started to not keep up again. Called Hi-Tech (because of a referral) to have a second opinion. Tyler found the problem. It was the coils in the attic. It was coming up on a holiday weekend so he charged it up so the AC would work over the weekend until they could replace the coils. Didn't charge for the initial visit or the freon. Christian came out after the weekend and did the install. He did a very nice clean install in the attic. He even cleaned up the mess that another crew from another AC service had left.

So to sum it up..... Great job, great service and a fair price! I found my new AC guys. Oh, they also came out on time when they said they would and called before they got there.

update (2 years ish later).....Had Tyler come out to check everything, since it is so hot outside ( 102 degrees in July). Still great! Dave Lane's is a pleasure to do business with.

We hired Dave Lane's Hi-Tech Mechanical Inc to fix an A/C leak that we noticed in a secondary bedroom. Tyler was sent to our home to perform the work. He was very thorough, honest and polite. He explained what happened to the system, what he worked on and how he fixed it and answered all our questions. After 50 years in retail I can tell when someone is being sincere in their work and profession. Very happy with the service!

The install of my new ac/heat met my expectations. The crew was professional and neat. Mr. Moonie delivered exactly what we discussed before the installation. Mr. Moonie and the whole crew seem to work flawlessly as a team. I would recommend this group of installers to anybody.

They have replaced a bedroom unit for us and were just very polite and professional. They explained everything that they were doing. I had them out today to determine what was wrong with our upstairs until and while he was here he checked our downstairs unit as well which is one of three units we have. He detailed the issues in an email which was terrific. Would always highly recommend this company.

After almost a decade of using Dave Lane, I am not using them anymore simply because of their shockingly bad attitude I received when they canceled 30 minutes into their schedule service appointment. I told them it was extremely difficult for me to take off work and their attitude was too bad. I wasn't able to stay any later than the original appointment window due to another appointment I couldn't reschedule after them. They told me I can take off another day and wait for them. There was no offer of a discount or much of an apology for the inconvenience and missed work. There was plenty of attitude though. I don't know what happened to Dave Lane AC because I used to consider them 5 stars and dependable but they completely destroyed it in one phone call.

As they point out in their response below, they aren't responsible if they don't show up to the appointment. If you have lost wages or any other inconvenience because of it, tough luck. Its the customers responsibility to be more understanding of them and jump through hoops to be their customer.

I’m very pleased with the work that Dave Lane’s provided for my A/C system. They were knowledgeable, showed us what was wrong with our A/C, took pictures, and explained every step. They genuinely wanted to help resolve our problem the best that they could. They worked hard and got the job done in a timely manner, and that’s important in Texas when the summer heat is starting to creep up. Time matters! I'm very pleased with the service I received today (7/1/20) from Hi-Tech Mechanical. I had an urgent air conditioning issue, and the service person was at my house in a couple of hours. Ryan was very polite and professional. He knew exactly what the issue was and taught me how to prevent it in the future. I'll definitely use Hi-Tech again should the need arise.

Upon moving into a new house, I discovered that one of the HVAC units was not working properly. I called Dave Lane's, and Tyler came out that same day. After determining that the coil was leaking refrigerant, he found the manufacturer warranty information, and he even helped me transfer the warranty to my name from the previous owner. He ordered a new coil which Christian came out to install a few days later. Since it was raining that day (which prevents pinpoint refrigerant charging verification), Christian made sure to come back the following week to make sure that the refrigerant charging was accurate. Unlike other companies that use bumbling answering services, Dave Lane's stays on top of customer communication with phone calls, emails, and texts, so you are never left wondering when your calls will be answered or when someone will be arriving at your house. If you are looking for a responsive, professional HVAC outfit that makes sure the job is done correctly, look no further.
