    One of our units was not cooling. Jay came out quickly and tried the least expensive option first, while explaining everything to me. He gave me advice for how to take care of the unit and things I could do myself. The unit wasn't working the next day, so Jay gave us a temp fix so that we could replace the necessary part when prices drop in the off season. I've texted him a bunch of questions while trying to get the unit running better and he answered so many questions and walked me thru a lot of the process. He's been great. Definitely recommend.

    We just bought a house that J & T had put an AC in not too long back. It was unoccupied for a while and something with the AC had gone wrong. J & T got back with me right away to set up a time to come out. They stood by their work and he got us back up and running in less than an hour. He gave some great maintenance tips and was both personable and professional. We plan to have him assist with any projects that are outside our ability to work on ourselves. J & T is definitely worth your time to call.

    We first used J&T last summer (2019) to evaluate on my AC units that had stopped cooling. The diagnosis was the coil had a leak. In the interim, freon was added to the system. It was suggested that we wait until the winter to replace the coil as the prices would be lower. It seemed like decent advice. I wrote a 5 star review in fact.

    This spring, my other unit stopped cooling. J&T "looked" but didn't test the system. Again, the diagnosis was to replace the coil on this system as it too had a leak. I agreed to the change which cost approximately $2900 with taxes.

    Three weeks later, the system stopped cooling. I called J&T out to determine the issue. This time, it was a leak on the outside unit. Again, no test we're run to identify the exact location. The recommendation was to replace the entire outside unit. At this point, as you would expect, I asked if this could have been the leak in the first place.

    This is where things got nasty and totally unprofessional. Instead of agreeing and trying to figure out a way to help us, Jay asked when was the AC unit last cleaned and then began to blame me for the unit not working properly.

    After my wife sighed from his response, he then said he's not taking this and said he's done with us. We attempted to have a further conversation but Jay of J&T got in his truck and left.

    This situation could easily have been resolved with an apology and finding a way to work together.

    So, I had another firm come out and look at the unit. They found the leak which was indeed on the outside unit. He fixed the leak with parts and labor for $370.

    One last thing, the first unit that was determined to have a coil leak in 2019 was also tested by this other firm. It still has max pressure and running fine.

    Home Owners Needing Help with their systems: AC firms do have ways to test systems to find leaks. One way is to inject a dye and I suspect there are other ways too. These tests cost extra money of course, but it could save you thousands of dollars.

    I wasn't sure who to call so I went with the closest AC company to the house. I was surely glad I did! Jay came out on a Sunday, it was like calling in a friend instead of a total stranger trying to just make a buck of you. He was super nice and extremely helpful at giving us ideas that we can do ourselves to save money & effectively cool our home better. Great communication as well.

    Jay comes highly recommended by a bunch of people where I live, so I called him because my house isn't cooling or heating properly. I had my mind made up that I needed a whole system overhaul, and it would have taken him not much convincing for me to buy whatever he wanted to sell to me. But instead, he recommended I just change our vent covers...a couple hundred dollar investment. Saved us TONS of money, and came out the first time for free, just to be helpful. I seriously cannot recommend this company enough. So knowledgeable, honest, and happy to help, even if it means we won't be spending thousands of dollars paying him to change everything in our house. It's not often that you come across truly honest people in this industry, and Jay is one of them!

    I called Jay the day after another company (correctly) installed a completely new A/C unit. Jay was out of town and presumably on vacation, but took my call right away and answered my questions and concerns about cooling time, quickly. He was the ultimate professional and took the time (on his time off) to assure us that a heat saturated house will take the better part of 24 hours to come back to "normal" temperature". Jay was chill (no pun intended) and easy to deal with. Not often you get folks who care for their craft, but more importantly, a customer whether they were theirs to begin with or not. Highly recommend for any and all HVAC service.

    Shout out to Jay at J&T Mecanical. Our A/C was not cooling. He came out within two hours of calling him. $0 service fee, a quick fix, and we are cool again. Honest and dependable. We will call him again if the need should arise!!
