Ricky Morris was our technician, he showed up on time and diagnosed our problem right away. He fixed the issue right the first time and then took the time to explain what he did. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would gladly refer them to my friends and family.

Owner came out to "service" my ac unit for the annual inspection and I was told everything looked pretty clean. I have 2 houses on my property very different sizes [one has 2 units, my house only has 1 unit] and he didn't know which house he was going to. He also didn't know that my ac was 2 years old he thought it was only 1 year old. All things on the service ticket. I told my husband I was pretty sure he didn't go in the attic because the stairs were exactly how I put them. Can you believe about a week and a half later a different Cogburn employee showed up without notice saying he needed to inspect the attic. I said I knew the other guy didn't go up there. The excuse I was given was that the first guy was a little over weight. Then don't send the man out for annual inspections. The second man was in my attic about 15 minutes when I decided to go out and see if everything was ok. He was up there in the dark. Didn't even bother to turn on the attic light. I told him I really needed to go to work. Another 10 minutes of him doing who knows what he comes down. He said I had some loose screws. Over 20 minutes to tighten screws? This on a unit that is 2 years old. I fully expect that he broke something. If something is broken I know who I won't be calling.

We have used Cogburn's as our heating and AC repair for the past three years and we couldn't be more pleased with the service. Anytime we have an issue and call them they are out the same day to repair whatever is going on. We had a deep freeze in Denton two years ago and our heater went out. Even thought the roads were dangerous and icy they came out immediately to ensure we had heat. Yesterday Byron came out personally to see what was going on with our AC! They always give us great deals and are understanding that finances can be tight when you aren't expecting a problem to arise with your system.
My husband and I are so thankful to have a local business that we can always count on. If you are looking for a good company that you can rely on, your are looking in the right place!

Had an issue with my AC. Cogburn's sent out Ricky Morris. He diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it. He explained to me what was going on and how to prevent it from happening again in the future. I would definitely recommend Cogburns for all your AC needs

Outstanding job by the owner. He came out for the job and called to verify before. The service was prompt and efficient. He made sure to let me know about the maintenance plan as well as the sales going on for new equipment. Always glad to find great and friendly service offered in Denton. Thanks!

James is amazing. He can trouble shoot with me over the phone, service outdoor unit when I'm not able to be there and comes out after hours! Quick, professional yet completely dowb to earth. Great local family business!

Byron, and the Cogburn crew, has taken care of our HVAC needs since we bought our home 11 yrs ago. Top notch service and always a pleasure to work with !
I would highly recommend them to anyone needing HVAC service. They also have a great service plan. Well worth the value.

If I could give less than one star, I would. If you have money to burn, then this company is for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere. There are plenty of other heating/ac repair companies in the DFW area who stand behind their work who are not only professional, but have a conscience when it comes to their customer base and what they're charged.
My husband and I own a home in McKinney, which has been leased out collectively 4+ years. We had an issue almost 3 years ago with the heat/ac unit, and called a local repair service, that with labor + materials = $550.00 total. (and we still have that receipt.) Almost 3 years of no issues after the original repair, so we have no issue with that company and what service they provided.
Different residents = it's just part of life that issues will arise, and we plan for that. Unfortunately the unit we have is known for a particular set of issues, so when the same issue came up with the ac/heat unit, and we ok'd them using Cogburn's---a mistake we won't EVER make again. Labor + materials + diagnostic fee = **$792.00**!!! This is the 3rd home we've owned, including a 'flip' house, and on the occasions we had to engage a repair professional, once they were hired for their services, the diagnostic fee was *always* waived. So, not only was the cost from Cogburn's inflated, but they kick in that extra gouge even when one makes the error of hiring them for the repair work.
I looked up the reviews on this company (unfortunately) after using Cogburn's; one site has other reviews and they get a 5 star rating, while here on Google I was unhappily surprised to see others who have been in the same boat as us, which makes me seriously doubt the validity of any the other good reviews.
Also, calling around after getting this unreasonable bill, we found out the part needed for this repair did not exceed $250.00; this is a huge consideration in that Cogburn's did not provide an itemized invoice--it just has 'replaced part' and 'charge'. Also, not by any stretch professional.
Do yourself a favor--when you need heat/ac work done, contact and hire someone else. We're not some huge LLC or company, just a regular family doing our best in this economy to avoid foreclosure, so this is not simply some 'write off'. If this had been a new problem without any history, we'd not have a complaint; since this was repeat taking care of a problem--the just about 30% markup is just ridiculous.

If I could give them a lower review I would have. We got a new air conditioner installed by them six years ago and have had nothing but problems with the unit. We had them out every year when we started the unit up in the summer because it wouldn't hold freon. The unit leaked from my attic multiple times and they only offered to paint the patch they ruined in the ceiling, so I have a patch that doesn't match in my ceiling. The unit stopped working again (outside of the warranty) and the technician from another company asked who installed the unit because it looked like they hadn't put a part on the condenser properly. Think long and hard before calling them out. I will not be calling them again.

My husband and I give Cogburn's a 5+ star rating. There customer service is great. Whenever there servicemen come to the house, they are always friendly, courteous and knowledgeable.
