Like others have experienced, my home warranty company sent Lumart to check out my AC system. I guess Lumart must get the majority of their customers through home warranty companies because I don't know who would hire a company with a 1.5 star rating. Lumart tried to get me to pay them $1500 to relocate one of my AC units by claiming they didn't have enough access space. This is despite having many other companies service my AC unit over the years. Stear clear!
Through First American Home Warranty sent out to validate that coils were leaking and low on Freon. Unit has been shut off for 2 weeks. Technicians report verified evaporator coils rusty and leaking. Low PSI. After 3 days they reported back to warranty "coils were frozen and Freon low" and needed maintenance. Direct contradiction of tech write up. Claim was denied. Fought with Warranty to get claim reopened. DONT USE THIS COMPANY.
When the only positive review is from a random person with only one review.... you have to wonder. This company must only stay in business by cheating with home warranty claims. We had work done on the AC and some work was not covered by the warranty - secondary drain pan was not covered. I owed them some extra on top of the trade fee. I wrote my check for $500 and they left. Went up in the attic to see the new secondary drain pan and the work they did - old pan was still there. Still the same drain pan as before and they refused to come look at it or acknowledge that it was not replaced. Filed a complaint with Old Republic Home Protection, but this is the kind of service which will keep me from renewing the home warranty. I’ll pay more money for a reputable company.
RUN AWAY! One star is too many. We were assigned this company through our home warranty. A tech came out and told me that the problem was a clogged filter and no filter in the return (returns should NOT be filtered). When that didn't fix the problem, he told me that there was a Freon leak (that he couldn't find) and he needed to have his boss contact the warrant company for authorization (all work was pre-authorized by warranty company because of COVID). Then the boss says he needs to come out himself because he's losing money on the deal having to come out so many times. He told my wife he would call when he was on the way, but never did. When we called at the end of the day to follow up, he said he had been to our house but never tried to call us because we "don't have cell service at our home". He opened the chained gate at the front of the driveway, looked at the outside unit, and WENT INTO THE ATTIC AND HOUSE WITHOUT PERMISSION OR ANYONE HOME! He then claimed that the outside and indoor units don't match up and therefore no repairs would be covered by the warranty company. He said that there was an electrical problem and the entire unit needed to be replaced. When we called the warranty company to complain he lied and said he had permission to be inside our home when he NEVER had permission. I had another company out and they found that the Freon was not low, told me to never put a filter on a return because it will damage the system, and found that a wire had been disconnected from the attic system (which was connected until after they came to my home without permission and supervision) causing the unit to not work properly and short out. He replaced the wire that had been disconnected, checked the entire system inside and out, and found no other problems. A week later all is working well again and appears to have been a thermostat problem from the start.
Somebody said the phrase, "run away." It is an understatement. You seriously need to run away. My home warranty company (First American Home Warranty) contracted with this company. When I found out who was coming I called the company asking for a different one. The technician came in the morning. He was not very talkative, and I had to even ask him was his name was. After he checked the unit, he told me that it needed freon. (the person that came later in the day told me that the unit was a two-year-old unit and it did not use freon). As the guy was leaving, I asked him he was adding freon. He responded he was not. Fortunately, I had the unit looked up and I knew what was going on. I knew it had some leaks. The guy did not mention any of that. When I told him what was going on, he implied that was the reason why it needed freon. I also asked him where we had to go from there, and it did not give me an answer. He said that the office would give me and answer and recommendations. They would contact my insurance company in 24 to 48 hours. I asked him if he was going to add freon and all I got was "No." No explanation at all. I tried to get an answer but he refused. I had never had anyone worked on an appliance in my house and not tell me what was going on. The company called and I told them that I was cancelling their service. The guy kept telling me what was going on and I told him I did not need the services anymore. Later, he called the insurance company and the insurance company was with Lumart on the phone and I explained why I did not want this company at my house. The insurance company was still pushing it and I ended up canceling the policy. Please run way!
Horrible, horrible, horrible company. Do you not use. If you're home warranty plan suggests them say NO! They lie to you and tell the warranty plan another thing in order to overcharge for services. Told me that my AC unit in attic and outside were bad and needed to be replaced. Called home plan for second opinion, stated that due to the information (pics only) they had to review to see if second opinion was warranted. My review was denied but then reversed because home warranty plan stated Lumert gave inconsistent information. Another HVAC company came within a week and said there was no need for anything to be replaced, the sensor bulbs in the attic needed to be fastened tightly. This was done and have not had issues since. Lumert lied to me, lied to home warranty, and tried to get us to pay THEM to replace both units for $6,000. Do not use this company.
VERY!! VERY!!VERY!! HORRIBLE 🤬 The warranty company refer them to come out. We needed a new unit for our downstairs, the owner was smoking as he was talking to me He wanted to know if I was paying cash or check before he even started the work. They put the new unit in on Friday by Saturday it wasn't working. We have twin newborn and he told us it might be Monday before he can send someone back out🤬🤬. If you want the job done right stay away from this company.
Do NOT let these liars in your home. Do not let your insurance company send them to your home. They are terrible. They, similar to others reviews, told me I had a "dirty coil" which I later realized they did because most insurances do not cover "cleaning" so they got an extra $250. My ceiling collapsed from a leaking issue and now it's worse than ever because nothing was fixed. When I called to ask them to come out and actually fix it, the rude owner got extremely defensive calling me a liar that my unit was not working and that they didn't fit it. Don't do it, folks.
It has been 1 week since they 1st came out. They reassured me that they had the right equipment to service my place. When they arrived they said couldn't because they would need a lift, not a ladder. They also said they might damage the gutters. Um, don't most residential places have gutters?! That should be expected, especially since you are an AC company! They left without telling me they were coming back. I found out they weren't coming back about 40 minutes later when I called THEM.
It wasn't until I called my home warranty company that I found out they wanted me to sign something saying they weren't responsible for damaging the gutters. Couldn't they have had me sign the waiver while they were HERE? The man I spoke with kept interrupting me and was VERY VERY rude.
The only reason I am still using them is because I have to per the warranty company. If you have a choice - DON"T USE THEM! It's been a week and it's still not fixed....
Bad experience please if you love your home stay away from this stupid people. they show up not looking like a pro. the dude they send to my house didn't even spend no more than 15 minutes checking out the unit and just told me like 2 or 3 things have to be fix took my $60 since the insurance company is paying for everything else. that was 8.6.15 today is 8.12.15 and still no fix have called the company at least 7 times the phone just ring nobody picks up the phone at all. BAD COMPANY. my insurance call them that the part for my house is ready and till this people haven't call me to set up a appointment. last time they were at my house they didn't even call me to set up a time frame they just call me while I was at work saying hi. we on our way. its 108 degree here in Dallas TX. and this people just don't care stay away from them
