I'm really beginning to like this place for a couple of reasons... One the customer service is exceptional. 2 they actually have really good prices on most things. And 3 they have a large variety of items especially items that you can't normally find at hardware stores Etc...

I took a generator to the store in Beaumont on Jan 11. I got it back 5 months later with all kinds of excuses. I was lied to and led on and finally got my generator back. I will never shop at this location again.

Nice selection but customer service is lacking. Tried to exchange a faulty item I had purchased the previous evening. They kept telling me "That's not showing up under your phone number" (I had my receipt) I pulled up my account, showed them where I purchased it and was told to call their 800 number. Everyone in the store kept using acronyms for their store procedures when trying to explain what happened. None of it made sense, very condescending supervisor, took my information and went back into his office for over an hour before finally coming out, refunding my purchase and selling me an identical one. Told me the price went up overnight and the new pump was $30 more than the one I just bought and tried to exchange. I showed them their own website and price listed, was told to "calm down, we'll honor that price". Overall, don't waste time going into the store unless you have to. Took me an hour and a half to get out with a working pump.

10/4/ 2020 Here we I am 6 Weeks after reporting To corporate northern tool being screwed over by the Beaumont Texas store service department. And they have done absolutely nothing. 9/26/2020 I purchased a Generac generator and the plug, the 30 amp female receptacle got bumped and broke way too easy. This is within 90 days but brand new and kept in the garage. So it's still under original warranty and extended warranty. I brought it back and they charged me I can't remember if it was 20 or 40 bucks just to look at it and said I would get my money back if it was deemed a warranty issues. Anyway they called me said they replaced the plug. And it wasn't under warranty they may have even charge me more so today I'm using my generator and the plug fell off. They glued it back told me they replaced it and I'm out a generator during post-hurricane with 5 to 7 days of outage.

Let me tell you HOW IMPRESSED I WAS!!!! Customer service in most places, is really a thing of the past! I have been to many hardware or tool stores, where I cannot get anyone on the phone, I get ignored when I go into the store and to try to find someone to help me if I have a question, is next to impossible! But let me tell you that this is not the way it was at Northern Tool and Equipment! I was doing a search for a gas space heater Online and my husband found Northern Tool and Equipment. So I called them. Right away, an actual person answered the phone, not the computerized call directory system that usually answers phones for most businesses! The woman who answered, introduced herself as Melissa. I told her the item I saw Online and she verified that they had it in stock and even went the extra mile to tell me that she will pull it from the shelf and bring it to the front for me so that when I go into the store, it will be waiting for me right there! This was so thoughtful! She was so pleasant and friendly on the phone as she helped me! Wonderful! Then when I went into the store, I was greeted by every employee that was there. If an employee was helping another person, they at least smiled at me and nodded, to acknowledge my presence there! I was not ignored! A woman walked up to me and I asked her if she was Melissa, which she jokingly replied, while hiding her name tag, "It depends..." We laughed and I told her that I was here to pick up a heater! Everyone was laughing and smiling, even the manager in charge stopped for a moment to greet me. I told them this was my first time to the store and they invited me to look around. Melissa also said that she would get someone to go with me to look at other heaters, in case I had any questions. This was the most wonderful customer service I have had in a very long time! What makes this even better, was that when I got home, we found out that the heater I had was defective from the manufacturer, so I called the store. Now this is the test, when you have to return an item! But again, I went back in, this time a new crew was there. The same manager and the same cashier, who I just don't remember his name right now, but he was so kind and sweet, both times I went in there. And I told them what happened, and they said it was no problem at all! One person I heard call out, I'll go get another one and they left instantly to go get another heater for me! Then the cashier rang me up and gave me a new receipt! I was in and out in a matter of minutes, with no grumpy faces, or attitudes, like most places, when you have to return an item! But they handled it professionally, quickly and it was an all around wonderful experience! I told them that I will definitely come back again! What a great place! I hope more people go here for the great prices and great service! I purchased a small 10,000 BTU gas heater that works great in one bedroom, with high ceilings, for only $99. Check this place out! You will be glad you did! :)

Horrible supervisors that treat their employees bad when they ask questions. No employee should ever be treated as a burden when needing help from a manager. False advertisement with no reconciliation other than "you can order it online".
