    Heat went out and called on. Saturday morning. They came out within a few hours only to miss the supply store hours (despite having two full hours before they closed to get a part). Pushing our repair two full days to Monday. Turned out they were wrong about what the problem was and still charged a $125 service visit charge for a 10 minute visit. I won’t use them again.

    AC went out on a Friday leading into another 100+ degree weekend. Ideal Aircare was out at our house exactly when they said they would be and they were very professional. We were back up and running in less than 30 minutes with a simple fix. What a great experience.

If you are in need of a highly competent, reasonably priced, timely and friendly expert, then look no further than Ideal Aircare. Mr. Ivie was thorough in explaining the new system and cheerfully answered all questions.It is nice to know that my wife and I have a reliable professional to call on for future heating/cooling maintenance and repair..

    Ed (owner) and the Ideal AirCare crew are great! We just had them install 2 new A/C units to replace our original ~16-year old units. Ed gave us a clear bid, and was here for the installation the entire time. He answered all my questions and the installation was great. He gave me a rundown of the systems when the work was complete. His crew was great and they cleaned-up after the project was done.

    I strongly recommend them. His bid was cheaper than other firms I contacted, and he was transparent with me about what made the most sense given our home/scenario (the cheaper units which are head-and-shoulders better than our original builder-grade units).

    I tell you what, customer service goes an extremely long way with me. I’m a customer for life with Ideal Aircare. Both times my furnace went down, the owner, Ed has personally taken it upon himself to make sure I was without heat for the least amount of time possible. Last night, at 8pm, he FaceTimed me while I troubleshooted the problem. Who does that? We were able to get the furnace to run through the night and guess who showed up first thing the next morning to do a permanent repair? Ed. The owner. If that doesn’t tell you all you need to know, I can’t help you. As a first time homeowner, this is the kind of relationship that will last a lifetime.

    The best AC repair company in Austin. Very honest, reliable and professional. Twice I have used them over the years, both during 100+ temp days, they were able to get their tech in same day. First time a different AC company (also with 5* on yelp) came, did a few diagnostics and told me I needed to replace the compressor, and give me a $4k+ quote. The AC unit is 7 years old and compressor still under warranty. I called in Idealcare for a 2nd opinion. The tech came and within 5 minutes he tested and found out the compressor was perfectly fine. Found an electrical issue on the board. Fixed it in an hour with a $150 bill. He also checked all parts of the unit, and tightened a loose plate that could be a short circuit hazard. Beware. Most AC repair companies in Austin play this game. They make you replace a working unit with a new one, charge you a thousand $ in install, then they turn around and sell the old unit to someone else. If an AC guy tells you, you need a new unit, give Idealcare a call for a 2nd opinion. Their service call is $85, so if you do indeed need a new unit, you can atleast be sure of it. The owner Ed is an upstanding guy and I hope he stays in the business so I have someone to call any time I have an AC issue.

    The beginning of an anticipated record Texas summer. Our A/C seems to be working 24/7 to maintain temperatures… then it can’t keep up anymore. I’m a “prosumer” so I look for condensation, filters, clogged drains, outdoor fans not spinning… everything looks great. I called Ideal AirCare and based on the fact that our house wasn’t in dire need (second A/C unit was working) they came out the next day. Joey arrived and was polite, focused on cleanliness with those fabric booties and did a thorough check of the internal HVAC before clearing it and proceeding outside. He quickly identified that the capacitor was bad and went to his truck to retrieve a new one — so glad he brought a supply with him! He recognized that I was hanging around and that I liked to learn, so he explained everything he was testing and fixing. The A/C was quickly cooling again, but Joey gave a few extra minutes to explain how I can extend the life of the capacitors and filters (and which Amazon copies to watch out for). Like I said, I’m a “prosumer” but I’d never gotten this advice before, and it will likely mean we won’t need to call Ideal again for a while — and they’re okay with that!

    Ed was able to identify and fix my AC in about 5 minutes. Very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I definitely will be using Ideal Aircare for any future HVAC or AC needs!
