Super helpful and friendly folks with a surprisingly wide array of hardware, housewares, and food

I shop at all the big chain hardware stores... that being said, this is my favorite spot to get anything I need. The staff are great and always know how to get answers about what they have in stock and where it is. I prefer this type of establishment... very personable. Thanks

The mix of old-school hardware store, high-end kitchen and dining water, and eclectic-gift-and-garden shop make Breed & Company one of my favorite Austin destinations. Always a sure bet for a quick and quirky last-minute gift.

I don’t understand how anyone could ever give Breed & Co fewer than five stars.

This is a clean, well lit (and most importantly knowledgeably staffed) old-fashioned hardware store. When you walk in, all the tools and hardware are on the left side and all the decor and household items on the right. That's a great set up that keeps you from wandering through a lot of stuff to find what you need. The staff is right with you the moment you walk in the door. If the first clerk doesn't have the answer, they immediately go find one who does know. Also, don't make the mistake of thinking their prices are higher than Home Depot et al.,. I bought some stainless steel screws at Breed for .40 cents each that were .68 cents each at HD. I wish this store was in my immediate neighborhood. Highly recommended.

A welcome change from the scene and vibe of the big box home improvement stores. I have consistently been able to find what I am looking for. When I bought paint (for the first time ever) I was being helped by the owner and she was extremely helpful and kind, and ended up assisting me at the register as well.

This store has a surprisingly robust paint and hardware selection for the size. The home and garden center is equally big. There's a lot of good stuff crammed into this tiny store but it doesn't feel cramped. It's a great place for practical gift shopping or picking up essentials. And if you do need something specific, the staff is very helpful and can happily have things ordered. An all around nice place.

I've come here on quite a few occasions now to purchase hardware and get keys cut. Every experience I've had so far has been great and I constantly see employees personally assisting customers for extended lengths of time so it's clear that the workers here care. Be it home, gardening, woodworking, and whatever else it seems they have it covered.
The only downside I've seen is maybe there's not as large a selection of product brands as larger stores, but the products they do carry are at least often high quality top brands. Given their physical space limitations, I don't consider this factor a detractor.

I love walking through this location. You never see it all.
If I had one million... they would end-up with it....
Neat Stuff ! !
