I don’t normally even write reviews but I had to share this. I bought a generator (we had lost power at our house). We are a husband and wife with five kids running businesses doing our best to be good people. I bought a $4000 dollar generator for our house at 6:58pm two minutes before they were gonna close. They helped me and were great. I put the generator in the back of my truck got home and it wasn’t the right one. I took it back to the store the next day around 2:00pm unused it sat in the back of my truck over night. I took it back to the store that next day and was willing to spend thousands more and they refused to take it back. The manager on duty wouldn’t even listen to me at first and told me to go sell it myself. I started calling every customer service number and management I could find. The customer service people said we wish we could help you and that they were willing to but stores are independent to their management. After an hour sitting in the parking lot making calls I never received a call back, but the manger finally came out and started looking at the generator I was trying to return and could clearly see I brought it back exactly the way I had bought it. Finally he said he would return it. And as I was buying a new one from them again. The new one I was buying was almost $6500.00. Despite this they charged me nearly $1000 restocking fee. I do understand a no return policy on these products but this was ridiculous. How bad has the customer base and our integrity as a people fallen to that this has to be good honest people’s experience now. Such a disappointing day with an already hard few days with the weather we had experienced just trying to get power to my family at our house. I will admit I did get frustrated with the manager and said some things I should not have. I did not cuss him or degrade him, but I was upset. I did apologize to him for how I spoke to him.

1 star is too much. I have now had 5 interactions with this company in-store, online, and over the phone, none of which have been impressionable customer service. My very first visit the in-store staff were not very professional...I might even say seemed disinterested in me and more interested in chatting with each other...I was just inconvenient. I drove ~50 minutes to make a specific purchase of several on-sale advertised metal shelves, but had to pay (~$900 with tax), order, and wait a couple of weeks for them to arrive at the store. Upon my return to the store (which I called and confirmed their arrival for my order before driving), they had many (I'd say 20+) of the item on the shelf; however, I was informed I was incorrectly told by the person on the phone that my order had arrived and they could not give me any of the shelves they had, they were for new in-store sales only. Ok...then refund me my order and I'll just buy them...right??? The couldn't do that...1. I can't get a refund for items ordered until they arrive at the store and I pick them up. 2. They will not honor the sale price I had previously purchased. CRAZY RIGHT??? Upon talking with the store manage, I was told that was correct, this is their policy to which I replied if you're truly the store manage then you have the ability to override the policy and satisfy the customer; otherwise, when I make the third trip it would only be for a refund. After some time discussing, he relented and fulfilled my order with what they had unsold on the shelf. Because with the shelving purchase, I was also given a gift card for each shelf I purchased, I gave online a try and ordered a Dewalt 2-drill kit on sale using the gift cards. It was to be 1-2 weeks to ship (not good - but it was free shipping too), needless to say 3 months later I still didn't get my drills (the product was now discontinued) and the best alternative (not what I wanted) was $100 more (also not in stock) and was not on sale or even discounted for my trouble. Eventually the order was cancelled and I did get my gift cards back. Now I've finally just found something I want (not even on sale) and just purchased using my gift cards; however, upon final checkout I just found out it will be 2+ months normal shipping (not sold in the stores and not in stock). If I don't get it, I give up. Either way, I would like to like this company as it could be a cool tool store, but I will go out of my way to buy anywhere else after this.

As a mechanic I know tools and they have really good tools had a very reasonable rate if they were around when I was younger I wouldn't have spent 50 to 60,000 on a Snap-on truck

I can quickly place an order online from the catalogs that I receive in the mail. It is easy to add promo codes and gift cards to the cart before finalizing the order. The Advantage club gets me free delivery saving a 60+ mile drive to the nearest store.
