I have worked with DocAir's Berry Westbrook on several projects requiring specialized testing and assessment. Very few Contractors call in outside help to insure the needs of their clients are met. This says a lot about the professionalism of DocAir.

DocAir just completed a radon mitigation system in my home. They were extremely professional, courteous, and timely. I would highly recommend DocAir for any radon or moisture related issues!

Very responsive, personable, and straight to the point. We had them out to inspect a crawl space on a home we are looking to purchase and they identified all issues and then gave the builder action items. Would highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience and the air quality in our house has improved exponentially!

Very fast work for radon mitigation in 1950s ranch. The guys arrived right on time at 8am and finished around 12:30pm the same day for an approx 1500 sq foot house with a crawl space. The price was higher($2780) than our realtor estimated ($1500), so be sure to get a true quote when you’re negotiating a home purchase. We should get our radon reading in the next couple of days.

TERRIBBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

EDIT: Since my review below, I have called back. Diane was the same, but I finally got to speak to the president of the company, Barry. At first he was siding with Diane, but once I told him the whole story of how I didn't hear anything for two days and still never knew when someone was coming he said they need to work on their customer service. We ended very cordially and he explained that Tennessee does not regulate how these systems are done so technically a previous owner could've requested that it not run to the roofline, but he said regardless of that they would have someone come out and fix it first thing in the morning. I appreciate how Barry handled things in the end, but personally I still wouldn't go back to this company.

Original Review:

We bought our house earlier this year. It had radon mitigation installed, but outside of that we knew nothing of radon mitigation standards. While having a basement solutions company (they also do radon mitigation) look at our basement for other repairs, the guy inspecting our house noticed that the radon vent pipe did not go to the roofline. He said we needed to get that fixed because it's pumping the radon out right next to one of our windows (our baby's window). This was upsetting news, so I reached out to Doc Air and expressed that they installed it wrong and we wanted it fixed ASAP. Diane was "friendly" but seemed a bit short with me like she wanted to get off the phone quickly, and when I was about to express how upsetting it is at the end of the call she quickly said "I'll have someone call you to schedule the repair. Bye!" Two days passed and no one called. So I reached back out and she said someone would come the next day (which is today) but wouldn't tell me what time. My wife called around mid-day today to see when someone would be coming because we needed to run errands and we hadn't heard any updates. She told Diane to just have whoever it is work on it even if we aren't home because we can't wait around when we don't have an ETA.

We just got home and I had an email from Diane saying that no one would be coming today because they're busy on another job, so someone would come out on Monday. In our minds, we should've been prioritized since they installed the system improperly. It says on the company website that they run the pipe 12 inches above the roofline. My wife called back and said that someone needed to come out today, and Diane said no one is available and they can't see in the dark. I'm thinking "use a head lamp." My wife pressed her to get someone out here today and Diane hung up on her. My wife called back and said "So you hang up on your customers too," and Diane basically ignored that and said "I'll get someone to come out tomorrow," and then hung up on my her again. After that, my wife tried calling back multiple times and continued to be hung up on. The one time she got back in touch, she told Diane she wanted to speak to the owner, but that didn't go over well either. So now we can't trust that anyone will show up and we have an improperly installed mitigation system blowing radon out next to our baby's window. I'll add that during our first phon call, Diane claimed that the only reason it might have been done that way is that the previous owner must've requested it. Yeah right. If someone wants a company to install something that isn't to code, then that company should refuse to do it.

In our view, a good company would've responded immediately at the word that one of they systems wasn't installed properly by apologizing and by sending someone out the next day. Also, it's just running extra PVC pipe to the roofline-- How long does that take for a professional?

Radon is not something you think about like fixing the a/c or waterheater, but when you need help from a bad home inspection, who do you call? I called DocAir. They were fast, professional and fixed the problem and made no mess. It's incredible the level of abatement they did so quickly. I would definitely call them again.

Working with DocAir was a great experience. They are one of the most honest companies I have worked with. If you are having air quality concerns I would definitely recommend calling DocAir.

Best price, on time, work completed in a timely fashion. Great job Doc Air from your salesman, to the installer— everything went smooth! Thank you!

We hired DocAir to mitigate radon in our house, because Diane was very easy to work with. However, when things went wrong, the experience was horrendous. The initial radon reading was at 4.1. After their mitigation, the radon level went UP to over 15. We spoke with several people at DocAir, from Jeff and Mike, the technicians, to Barry, the owner. Everyone proposed a different solution on mitigating the issue, with no consistency. Despite initially proposing a non-invasive solution of digging deeper to pull in more air from the soil, they backed out and refused to go with that proposal. Additionally, the work was very shoddy, leaving unsightly holes inside and outside of our home. Both Mike and Barry became very threatening towards the end of our conversations, making us feel like we are at a used car dealership. Don’t be fool by their initial interactions, they are complete nightmares to deal with after they have received your money.
