My builder uses Modern to install the HVAC system. I moved into the home in November and by May when using the AC to cool home the upstairs was not cooling so I contacted the builder and he sent Modern out to repair. They noted the refrigerant was low and added more stating that sometimes they don't get enough in when installing. Fast forward to the next spring and while doing the Tune Up Hiller notes that the upstairs refrigerant is empty and that more then likely there is a slow leak in the lines. I contacted Modern since they did the work and didn't fix the problem the year before. They refused to come out noting that the 1st year warranty had expired. Their tech put a bandaid on a bigger issue and now they want me to pay to fix it. Their initial work was poor, failed to fully fix the problem when first contacted about it and now wiped their hand clean. Would not recommend and if they installed your unit I would get a second opinion if anything goes wrong while under warranty.

Metal roof on commercial space that they warrantied for life. We have tried to have a leak repaired for three months. They do not respond, communication is horrible and the leak continues. We now have to find an outside company to repair the work they performed. Do not recommend at all!

The tech I talked to (for an in common customer) was rude, argumentative and hung up on me. After i called the office and complained, the owner called me back and was equally rude and argumentative. He continuously interrupted and talked over me. Being a small business owner, i would never talk to a customer in such a manner. He then proceeded to tell me he had been working for our common customer "for a hell of a lot longer than i had", and he didn't even have to deal with me. I added my "final thought"(F-you!) and ended the conversation in the same way their tech did.

When buying our house, we required the sellers get the HVAC inspected and serviced. This was the company they went with. A few weeks later we turned on our ac and it wasn't working properly so we had to have someone come check it out. The problem was there wasn't enough freon. It was two and a half pounds low and the filter was in backwards. Obviously is wasn't checked out.

I would not recommend this company for any services. They are terrible and they honestly don’t care. They just want to make a quick buck and don’t care about the work or service. There customer service is a joke. DO NOT USE !!
